New keeps - Effect on the south?

At the end of the month 13 managed to build their second keep thus further strengthening their alliance (13th Prophecy). With the construction of 13's second keep and their invitation to talk with other guilds about guidelines and rules of engagements the south appears to be reasonable stable.

Prometheus and 13 will be talking about making rules that apply to all of our claimed territories. Forsaken, being a southern nation, is most likely to be included as well. This process is still in its first stages, its not meant to unite the southern nations but to create stability for player controlled cities in the south.

13 Keep

After 14 long hours of building the guild Forsaken completed its keep on Sunday (Aug 1st). Forsaken has taken its biggest step yet to establishing their desire for a neutral area in Nave, for trading and tavern hopping. Forsaken completed their keep with the assistance of Prometheus, Wessex, Silver Skulls, and the financial help of the Meduli Trading Company.

Thaeric, leader of Forsaken, stated “We hope that this keep will stand as a beacon of hope for those that seek to be neutral, and serve the community around it as a meeting place for trade, events, and a landmark for many other guilds and groups to build a player city around.” They have stated that their goal for the new keep is as a community center where people can come together under neutrality agreements while in the proximity of the keep. The one thing about this keep that really accommodates that effort is the area it is located. It can be found in the hills above Bakti among a lush forest, giving an easy sense of comfort and safety to the area.

Promethia City Council

Promethia (the city of Prometheus Alliance) will be partially run by a city council whose task it will be to regulate trade, keep thieves and gankers down and in general arrange the workings of the city. The council will be comprised not just out of allied forces but will include inhabitants of the city (TOG). With the recent introduction of the territory control system it will be interesting to see how things develop.

Promethan Alliance expanding

The Prometheus Alliance has expanded to include the italian guild Drakes.
The guild has completed their one month trial and were welcomed by the rest of the alliance. They are fully fledged members and have an equal say(shout) in the running of the Prometheus Alliance.

Drakes have constructed a house inside the Prometheus walls.

Bandit event

The RP-guild Forsaken organized a "Bandit event" where players were free to join the rescue of the family of a rather distressed woman. The whole setup can be found on the forums. The event was very successful by account of all parties involved.

The entire event was also frapsed and uploaded to youtube:

Champion of Gaul'Kor Event

On Sunday (Aug 1st) Bevo held the first “Gaul’Kor Games.” The new games he is holding each week now in Gaul’Kor are for the title of “Champion of Gaul’Kor.” In last week’s games he held a king of the hill style event.

Champion of Gaul'Kor

The basic rules were that you score 10 points for each 10 consecutive minutes you hold the point spot, and 30 points to the group who holds it at the end of the one hour event. The hill was the two furthers back buildings in Gaul’Kor near the water, and the point spot was atop the second building on a place that required people to first go up one of two stair wells in the first building and then cross a network of roofs and wooden planks to make it over to the top of the second building.

Unfortunately when the time that was decided on earlier in the week for the event to take place approached it happened to be night time in game. Gaul’Kor Crew (AQ/Reign) had set up on the tops of the first and second buildings well before the event time in very strong defensive positions, and using members holding torches as look outs below along the stairs and paths that must be traveled to reach the top. Unfortunately however, Gaul’Kor is about as close to impossible to reach at night time as anywhere in Nave. So AQ/Reign won the event due to no other guilds showing up.

However at the end of the event time, daylight broke, and Promethium Alliance showed up with ~15 members, and Myrmidon showed up with ~8-10 members. AQ/Reign still held the positions with around ~12 members and it was decided by all parties to have some fun. Prometheus was the first to attack the AQ/Reign positions, first by ranged attacks from below and atop other building, and then by a strong assault. The positions that AQ/Reign had taken up were extremely strong and they were able to hold off 3 strong assaults over the next 15 minutes.

The CIR contingent of the Prometheus forces had run out of healing reagents before AQ/Reign ran out. CIR was falling back from the house when Myrmidon hit them. Bloodied and battered from their extended battle with AQ/Reign they never saw Myrmidon coming untill they were among them, fresh and eager to kill.

Most of CIR died in that initial onslaught. They did manage to give warning to the RUS contingent of Prometheus who were still holding their own against AQ/Reign. So AQ/Reign pulled about half of their members back to the second building to the point spot. It was at this time that Myrmidon had broken through the Prometheus members who were holding the assault and made their way over to the second building and began trying to take the point spot. The fighting at the point spot was centered around two roofs on the second building and a room area at the very top. To get to the point spot required you to cross a plank to a small section of roof behind a tent. The numbers fighting on the roof of that second building was varying greatly with people withdrawing and reengaging with between 4-8 members on both sides from time to time over the next 10 minutes of battle. The battle was truly epic with some of the best pvpers in MO fighting tooth and nail to gain control of that plank going to the point spot and the two sections of roof atop that second building. In the end Myrmidon was able to take the point spot and remove all others from both buildings rather quickly once they had won that top fight. From this point on, Myrmidon maintained easy control over pretty much all of Gaul’Kor pushing both Prom and AQ/Reign into the water and controlling the waterfront.
