Well, we are now more than 6 weeks in to Mortal Online Released. What we have seen are some pretty big political changes, what we have not seen are any large lasting wars, yet. We have seen the pre-release goliath of Promethean Alliance solidify its position at the top of the political food chain, seen AI lose most of its political influence, and seen Los Banditos loud return for release and their quiet fade away, while Myrmidon’s quiet arrival at release has returned these past few week to the Myrmidon we knew and loved (or hated) in Beta. We have new strong alliances such as TOP Alliance, and even newer alliance currently in the making already hoping to replace the void of those like Los Banditos.
In the North East of Nave we have AQ/Reign/TBH who are taking hold in the old home of Lost Banditos, Gaul’Kor. Their neighbor near cave camp is TOP Alliance who is made up of Tindremic Templars, The Professionals, and Outsiders. AQ/Reign is currently having daily fighting with TOP/AI, Myrmidon, and Promethean Alliance. TOP Alliance did have a small skirmish with another alliance called ICE Alliance who settled and built some houses near TOP, but that fight did not last long and ended in a peace treaty with plans for creating a trading up in the area east of Cave Camp. However ICE Alliance has dissolved, with some of its members moving on to newer alliances, while others are looking to reinvent their guilds.
South of TOP Alliance, and Morin Khur lays the infamous home of Myrmidon in what is called the Myrmtropolus. During Beta Myrmidon was the most known and most infamous PK guild in Mortal Online. However, right after release, with their old home of Gaul’Kor being overrun or infested, by Los Banditos, there was very little herd from Myrmidon. For most all of the first month after release they managed to fly under the radar, and built a nice settlement near the Bandit Camp south of Morin Khur. Currently they are back in their Beta form and causing their old drama in game, on IRC, and on the forums with daily outings north to Gaul’Kor, west to Kranesh, and south into the jungles.
Along the southern shores of Amaruk Nuur (Sausage Lake) around the towns of Vadda, Bakti, and Moh-ki there has been quite a bit of political drama, fighting, and house destructions. In Bakti the Bakti Crew from beta has made it into release and is still going strong attempting to keep the town and area around Bakti safe from PKs and thieves. Wessex has declined to make the same splash on Mortal Online’s release as they did for Darkfall’s release and has quietly settled just outside Moh-ki. Between Bakti and Moh-ki our favorite tavern has been established with Forsaken settling atop the hills over Bakti. Quite a war has been waging between Forsaken and Wolfzeit with a house a piece being destroyed on both sides and no end to the war in sight.
To the south Promethean Alliance, made up of CIR, ODL, RUS, SYVI, and Overlords, has settled in 13’s old keep spot from Beta and built the first keep in the game on that same spot. South of their keep where AI had planned to build a keep 13th Prophecy was able to ninja AI’s keep spot one night with the assistance of Promethean Alliance. AI immediately declared war upon 13th Prophecy and Promethean Alliance; however they were so heavily out-manned there was never any real opportunity for a war to happen and a peace treaty was eventually signed between all parties involved.
Forsaken and WZ War - July 17th
For the past week now fighting and house burning raids have erupted in the normally peaceful areas around Bakti and Moh-ki. Wolfszeit, a German guild with a mix of RPKs and non PKs, has declared war on by Forsaken. The first days of this war were quite uneventful, with lots of Forsaken parties out hunting WZ, but unable to get many kills. Due to their inability to draw out WZ they began collecting intel in an attempt to find WZ's house. When they finally thought they had pinned down a house belonging to WZ they attacked and destroyed it. This house kill by Forsaken has been contested by WZ with claims that it wasn't even their house, but that the house belonged to a small friendly guild that had no part in the conflict. Forsaken continues to maintain that this house did indeed belong to WZ.
In response to this attack on the house WZ staged their own attack the next day. They were able to destroy one of Forsaken's houses, which happened to have the guild stone in it. This kill was confirmed by Forsaken and they honoured their enemy by stating it was "a good kill". Following the house kills the rest of the week was a mix of cat and mouse games. With each group looking for opportunities to gain an advantage and score some kills or rob a house or two. Forsaken has used a quite large intel network to seek out and hunt WZ, but have had only mediocre success in being able to pin them down before they got away.
WZ has been doing hit and runs on random houses including both Forsaken and Promethean Alliance (who is not involved in the war) and has had some success in looting house chest. According to WZ they were able to destroy all of the resources stored in one of Forsaken's houses, and most of the resources in one of Promethean's homes, while getting away with some loot.
Battle report - July 24th
Three sided battle in Gaul'Kor between AQ/Reign/TBH (15 confirmed fighters), RUS/CIR (22 confirmed fighters) and Myrmidon (6 confirmed fighters). Russian was spotted fighting at the side of AQ/Reign/TBH but isnt included in the count.
The battle started at the bridge leading to Gaul'Kor. AQ made a line to stop Prometheus troops from crossing. RUS forces applied pressure to their line while CIR went through a gully next to the bridge, circled around and hit the AQ line in the flanks.
AQ lost two people in this flanking maneuver, one more died when RUS crossed over, smashing through what remained of their flanked line.
The rest rallied and gathered at the equiry/stables. Their healers took up position behind the stables and in some cases on the stables. Promethean kept pushing forward and in total 11 AQ died, some of which however had been killed before and apparantly ran back to the fight with armor and weapons from their banks.
Prometheus then pursued AQ into the ruined city. Then reports about Myrmidon (6) in approaching Promethean's rear hit reached the battelfield. Myrmidon took up position in the mining tunnels and Prometheus forces entered the tunnels to engage them. The narrow tunnels worked in Myrmidons favor as the front fighters of Prometheus couldn't fall back to be healed due to eager reinforcements trying to push ahead.
One or two Prometheus died with no casualties on Myrmidon's side. However, Prometheus still outnumbered Myrmidon by a large margin. At this time AQ attacked Prometheus in the rear, trapping Prometheus between the anvil of the Myrmidon line and the hammer of AQ.
In total 8 CIR died out of the 13 that were present, RUS casualties are unknown. The rest managed to withdraw.
The server crashed at this point when AQ and Myrmidon started to engage each other. Reports from Promethean ghost scouts say that killed the last of the Myrmidons (Kaizer killed Nitesilver after chasing him down).
Prometheus made the mistake of thinking they could wipe out the smaller force (Myrmidon) and then turn back to wipe out AQ. Myrmidon however made good use of their position and managed to hold Prometheus off long enough for AQ to charge their rear.
