Fortunately, I was prepared for the awesomeness, so I took off my pants before I watched it, that way I didn't have to change them. Also, I had a sham wow ready for the occasion.
On a serious note, that was amazing, and Star Vault continues to exceed my expectations and blow me away. That was just amazing... I'm not over it yet... World record for most amount of weapon varieties in an mmo, held by Star Vault's Mortal Online with over 142,000,000! Wooot! I am still amazed

If I understand correctly, every race has has sub races and each of these have attributes. By mixing the blood of the sub races you can somewhat mold your starting attributes in a way that best fits your playing style.
For example, I like to play a scholarly mage type, but that is also fast and agile to keep myself out of trouble. So i would try and blend the sub races with the highest int and dex/agi to start off with the best 'lean' towards my play style. |

Although I registered about a half year ago, I really haven't been keeping up to date with all the updates for MO. I've spent the last week or so getting active on the forums, but one thing I noticed was that it was very difficult to find accurate and up-to-date information. Needless to say, this powerpoint was extraordinarily beneficial to my progression in the understanding of the game, and I feel it will help all community members in contributing ideas using this common pool of information.
That said, this is very well done. Having come from many games whose development teams have shown little interest to include the community, I applaud the MO dev team for this awesome presentation and thank them for being so willing to include the community and actually listen to us. Hope to see some new threads emerge from this! EDIT: After reading through the presentation and watching the videos, I would have to admit that I am truly excited to play this game. Being a streamlined PvPer I can't even believe that the presentation made me genuinely interesting in both crafting AND PvE. The atmosphere the devs have created with MO is unique by simply integrating all the different elements together. Why it excites me is because it all just makes SENSE, and is woven together so well (at least how the devs present it). Obviously I could go on about the features that excite me but this is hardly the place. I look forward to the discussions that emerge from this community stimulus and can't wait to help make this game grow into one hell of a game. Last edited by AccessDenied : 8th May 2009 at 05:55. |

Wow, awesome presentation. I was getting itchy. New blocking video and fighting of minotaurs and trolls. Cool preview of the crafting system. A bit more details on player buildings. Just amazing 6/5 should have been on the poll. Now to check email every 5 minutes for beta invite.

Honestly 5/5.
I sound like a stupid fanboy/kisass but I really think they went WAY beyond my expectations. For a modern independent MMO company to tackle a project so expansive and vast as this is just purely amazing. |

That does it... I'm becoming a crafter. I'm an extremely creative person, and the combinations that can be made with crafting are just too amazing!
I'm obsessed with the look of that troll! I love it! I watched that scene about 10 times already!

This PowerPoint was totally LAME! What are you going to do with 142 million different weapons? Nothing. All you need is sword, dagger, hammer, polearm! Keep it simple! Why confuse everyone with such variety?? Creatures in a PvP game?! HA SO CAREBEAR! If you want a REAL MMO come play my game! More copies available next month!

Also to the guy who diddn't get what he was doing, its all sarcasm. Once again to the presentation, I watched it again and I think I may be multi-orgasmic. this time I took an above posters recommendation and removed my pants. Good call.

Maybe I am just tired and missing the tremendous excitement, but the power point did not say all that much.
The insight on the crafting system and economy seemed to be the only significant contribution to our total knowledge of the game. Everything else was either reiterating what we already knew, such as the game's philosophy or what was described in the alpha combat system. There were not many new screen shots. I was disappointed to just see the same ones I've been looking at months ago, or very close to. Out of the three videos nothing major was revealed. It was good to observe some nuts and bolts of the combat system, but we already knew about blocking. Clips from the beta video were obviously nothing new. The additional clips almost fooled me into thinking they were from the beta video; not too much new there either. Prototype footage? Watching the minotaur attack you in first person was interesting, but why show this from the prototype stage? Don't get me wrong. The devs gave us what many of us wanted, and that was a confirmation of what sort of things are happening and what the intentions are. Guesswork on those things gets annoying after a while. They made a large contribution to informing us about the crafting system and told us about, or confirmed, the intent for trades such as taming, or features such as player housing. Finally, tossed in here and there, are other good little bits and bites of information. However, their disclaimer fairly states that nothing is promised, especially on game release. While all of this is neat, interesting, what have you, I would not go as far to say I jizzed my pants over it. I was thrilled just to be reading something official about a genre I really hope revives so that I can experience it for the first time. The information presented did not seem geared toward the "faithful followers" but rather people who, at this point, still do not know much about Mortal Online or the general philosophy it believes in. I am going to sleep now. It was good enough to keep me up longer than needed. |

It showed me like of details facts on what they are planning, which is nice.
NOW will they deliver? Maybe we should tell them to have beta testers tell us exactly what of that powerpoint show is inside the game and what is it like. And have multiple reviews from beta testers of every function in the game. And then we wont waste money to buy it like we did with DFO. |

I do have to agree, nice PowerPoint, but a few things that my Software Design and Development professor explained to me, white font on a light contrast background makes some text hard to read. But beyond that, great job.

I like the item combination bit. Liked the fact that houses are kinda safe assuming you lock your door and don't loose your key.
I also noticed the lack of grass or extra models in the backgrounds, but of course this is still in the beta phase and I'm sure they'll add a lot more grasses and fluff to the landscape before release. |

I used to be a big Darkfall fan, but to be honest, that slide show has pushed me from being on the fence between DF and MO to Mortal Online. Really can't wait until it comes out.
I just hope the devs fulfill their promises in a timely fashion. It's been too long since a game like that has existed and met its hype. |

That was terrific... I enjoyed every minute of it.
Not only did I learn a few more things about the game design, but I also learned some Swedish. Hurrah!

Amazing. They actually make things more complicated than cutting them to rush the game.
Player housed that can also be shops, real-time mounts, unique bosses, and those PvE battles are blood boiling. Can't wait. I really wish SV to achieve glorious success with MO. |

I was very impressed by the power point. It was a nice way to bring together everything that has been talked about on the boards in a short, but detailed explanation. It reminded me of why I was looking forward to playing this game.

Wow. If MO releases with even half of the features listed in the powerpoint I don't think I'll need to play another mmo ever again.
Can't fucking wait.
