What would it be like, here is my MMORPG, enjoy
You are Shawk, you are born, in a world where there is nothing. There are no cities, no towns, no currency, no gold, no weapons, no armor, nothing, just other people like yourself, being born just like you at the age of 18 years old, you are in a beautiful world much like earth with every different climate. I would call it A New Birth. And this is how your life in A New Birth would begin, You start out needing to protect yourself against animals and other people like yourself, not dinasaurs, more like wolves, bears and coyotes. The minute you are born you look around, you are completely nakid and hungry, first, you must protect yourself, you grab a rock and a strong stick and weild them looking for something to eat. You notice a wolf, you throw a rock at the wolf and begin hitting it with a stick, you skin the wolf and take its pelt and harvest the meat, you need something to put the meat in and somewhere to store your pelts, you find a cave and set up a home, You find another player in the cave and begin talking to him, you and your new friend share your items and hunt together getting more pelts and food and storring it in your cave. Later, you find out certain leaves are very strong and can be almost like a string type material, you use this string to sew the pelts into clothing such as boots, gloves and pants. You both spend some time learning how to create these items using porcupine needs and string, eventually you both create a full set of leather armor. Also, you chissle rocks to form spears with wood and this string. With your new armor and weapon you go out and fight stronger enemies to get stronger pelts, you encounter bears, boars and even players, taking the items that these players have found themselves.. you find that one of these players actually created a hammer, breaking it apart you notice he just used a stick and chisseled a hole in the rock to put the stick through the rock.. After a hard days work and much food and pelts gathered you are both very tired and encumbered from carrying your wares around all day, you set up a camp and cook some meat.. you become less tired and get a few minutes of sleep making you less encoumbered and much stronger. You both get up and head out again. 10 days later. You and your friend have found more friends and you have all started making a clan, you have created 2 towers and 3 homes with trees, bark, leaves, dirt etc etc.. you have been attacked many times and died a few times lossing all your possesions but you and your friend have always regrouped and saved up items in caves to be able to get back to your lives again. You and your new clan decided to take control of a cliff area with 2 towers overlooking any intruders on your land, you have men and women in your clan, about 20 good people.. Many people go into their homes to sleep (log,) for the night and get much more rest, (str,) then they would in the pooring rain and cold wheather. You have learned much in 10 days, how to create axes, better spears, bows, arrows, even a better form of armor with a metal you found in a nearby mountain. 5 days later. Your home has become much more secure, you now have 1 barrack, 4 towers, 10 homes and 50 members of your clan. You and your clan designed a flag out of pelts and started hanging it above your towers and barracks.. you have created walls covering areas that allow other to get in and set up some willing guards and scouts to search the areas outside your home. A band of weird looking humans with green skin are constantly trying to attack you but as we start to win they run off back to where they came from. 20 days later. Your clan has taken a few blows but has managed to live on, you now have 5 towers, very strong walls, barracks, an armory, a workshop, a blacksmith and even set up a mine in the nearby mountains that also has 2 towers defending it and 20 men.. your clan has now become 80 strong and are growing stronger every day. The green skins are still attacking almost everyday, they seem to be getting stronger in number and their strength allows them to almost take on 2 of our men. ... Ill stop here, but I think you get my point, eventually, people would learn how to create bronze armor, bronze swords etc.. then later find steel in these mines, allowing the creation of steel armor and swords.. Use your imagination and that essencially what my game would be made into. the evillusion would eventually end.. There would be no magic, no guns, no gunpower, nothing of this nature, The highest you can reach is what we consider to be a Pre-guns aura, Magic just does not fit in my type of game, there are forms of curring but essencially it is just a few races of Men, Orc, Man-Orcs, Wolf-men, Dwarfs etc.. maby even minotaurs. You can kinda see that eventually you would have farms, with pigs and cows, that make milk, which gives you a bonus, or lambs, which give you more agility with better boot material.. then you can make castles... blah blah. There are no quests, no npcs, no radar, no map, no nothing.. just your brain and your avatar.. you dont even have a hud showing your health, you get hit twice, you die, it`s completely realistic, you can bleed to death if not taken to a healer and you can die. when you die, you lose everything, you have to find your way back to your clan who is waiting for you, or start life over again. The only thing you actually have on your screen, is a chat bar, nothing else. But anyways, share your ideas on what you can conjure up with your imagination if you yourself had a 50 man dev team that would make whatever the hell your heart desired. Sounds like a dream. The gaming industry is huge tho. I mean like you can be so many things in it. Programmer, Art. Story , etc. I am not sure what part i think i could go for. But i love the idea of being part of the development of a whole world so to speak. And only by being in this forum i am in a way a part fo the development right?

Mine would be like real life. You could create your fantasy life.
You create your person, you go to school, you get a job, you get married, you become filthy rich, you can do anything. You can drive cars, shoot people, whatever you want! Like GTA and The Sims combined.

I'm currently in an online cource full-time on my 6th month for graphic design, Everything ive been tought I pretty much know, except for the 2d art that ive been getting tought recently. But yah, without that diploma, don't bother. Unless your planning on being an newb modder like Sebasian or something and getting, "lucky," Go for web design, then graphic design, and you're set for life.. payed off all my school loans already making websites locally and doing content for a company here. If you are serious about this; a proper "Idea" the type that would get investors listening is a 12+ page Design Document; that outlines each feature and its possible implementation; showing that this can actualy be done.
Hell; one day I want to open my own game design compnay; I am currently studying Computer Science and I do 3D modeling; and Texturing as a hobby on the side, so when the time actualy comes; I know enough from each trade to coordinate everything into a coherent project... |

That sound more fair i think. Nice to hear diploma does not mean everything so to speak. You can do awsome things even if you dont have a diploma on it :P
