I love the ideas I'm seeing in this thread. I am so bored of looking the same as the 10 people standing next to me. I want customizable armor, at least to an extent.

What I would like to see:
Item creation guide - armor: Step 1 - choose armor slot (chest, legs, fingers, feet, tentacles, head) Step 2 - choose armor shape - there should be lots of these Step 3 - choose armor texture and color - maybe a handful of textures, and a color wheel with an option to save color swatches Step 4 - choose the stats and input components (if there will be stats in this game?), just make sure that if you want your item to have +4 stealth to have a cloaking module handy. Step 5 - item completion, or factory schematic, or practice item for crafting points (hey, i know it's fantasy but you can still have factories!) Crafters would be able to: - learn new armor shapes as they advance - learn a new portion of the color wheel (neutral color portions only for newbies) - maximize the effect of their components (make a better overall item) based on their state of progression in their field - learn how to apply new modifications (oo horray! i will know how to incorporate dragon scales in my armor if i read this ancient text - now to find a dragon willing to part with one!) Roninclick: please be informed that I care what characters look like. I have chosen to wear an item with less than optimal stats because of its graphical representation. You can now edit your post to make the assertion that "only one person" cares what you look like. Have a nice day. love to all Ketrine |

Great ideas Ketrine.
It looks like there is a massive amount of support for players that do not want to look like everyone else. If the game boasts that you can "Be" anything. Why not go that extra mile and allow players to "Be" visually different. In the end I think that would be a MAJOR factor in players deciding whether or not to play this game. Thoughts? |

you should be able to sign the armor you create with your name or a sign you designed on a paper or something on the armor, like made by <name>/<sign>.
so if someone buys your armor and other people think the'd have to get one of them they know who to send messages to for a crazy armor design then you can make your own armor fashion show |
