This game isn't just PvP

why does everyone think that this game is just about PvP. Yes you can PvP but it aint what this game is about. If it was a full pvp game then they would stick us in a room and it's last man standing from there. This is a MMORPG "RPG" "Role Playing Game" this isn't and MMOPVPG "Player vs Player Game". The game might be "Full PvP" but it doesnt mean that you have to do it, Of corse i am going to kill players and challenge people. This is based on real life to a point. In real life you can kill anyone you want to anywhere you can so this is what the developers of this game is trying to do. And this has everything to do with RP as much as PvP. We are going to roleplay and character in a time of dragons and monsters. There is a game that i think will be really similar to this game "Oblivion". So get that game and Online and get better graphics, AI, Physics and level's ect and you will prob get this game. You can kill just about anyone in this game. But you can also do quests and you have to level your skills. And if you can get one of the Admins to tell me that it is just Arena PvP based then i will close my account and never post again. Let the flaming begin.

You've been here what, a day? And you've ascertained that the game isn't about PvP? maybe you should double check, 90% of the people here (rough-estimate

) are just here for the pvp, I have my doubts that some people (if it's possible) would even PvE....

No - that would be an FPS Shooter - this is an FPS RPG, and with respawns it can't be last man standing

Actually - again you couldn't be more wrong, open pvp means at some point, multiple times per day, probably per hour depending on when it is, you will be attacked, and thereby forced into PvP.

There would be one of the main factors I disagree with, there has been very little focus on RP up to this point, for the most part it has been on the PvP and looting therefrom.

There would be your strongest point - so I won't argue it, you have a good point, you CAN do what you want, it's a sandbox game.
However - the FPS and skill based system makes it emphasized otherwize.

The rason for them saying "Full PvP" is because the PvP content is sht in other game (Pardon my language) so it's saying this is gonna be the best game for PvP.

PvP is not a feature in the game, it's part of it, just like PvE and Roleplaying is. They wouldn't have quests or put work into monsters if it's just for PvP. But yes, most people are here because of PvP.:P

I can't be arsed to read all the replies, but the OP has a point. PVP will be a massive feature, but it will not be the most important aspect. Relying on other players is to prone to fuck ups.

What about the off peak hours?
What about exploits? (they will be there, people will use them, only when they are found by the one good Samaritan in 1,000,000 that reports it, it will be fixed)
What about unbalanced classes?

So characters can progress, and therefore participate in PVP, PVE will be a core of the game, which PVP will rely on to succeed properly. From what I have read, there are a great many number who think that PVE will be a minor aspect. Full PVP is a marketing line ... is a central feature, but not the be all and end all of the game.

I'm becoming to understand what you mean bit by bit - it wasn't clear at first.
I thought you meant everything was equal, 25% crafting, 25% charecter development 25% PvE 25% PvP

I agree with your original post now - even though PvP is a MAJOR factor, it's not the ONLY factor.

PVP is not the only factor but like someone has mentioned you can be attacked at ANYTIME. Unlike other so called pvp games ,the pvp in this game gives you no choice.

Their are no PVE servers so you cant escape being attacked. Lets say you are out questing and really enjoying your PVE experience ,then i come along and kill you or try to.

So you understand that this game does offer pve but its still a PVP arena where you can be attacked at anytime weather you like it or not.

I also agree with this game is not going to be pvp ONLY, as far as i concern i hope the community in the game to be a mix of all what we remember from the good old days of Uo,
The travelleres, The newbies, the miners, the victims, the pk gangs, the idiots, the wankers, the yellers, the campers, and all what you can type in here,

If its just a big boring grindfest and 50 people killing any newbie outside the first gates of every city well it would be a deathmatch online game just with just a shitload of griefing, i guess we will have people doing all kinds of stuff in the game.

But with the option to pvp anytime anywhere just about

But i just hope for one reason that not too many people mistake this to be a deathmatch game

YES completly 100% correct, This game in my opinion should play a good mix of RP,PVE and PVP.
If it's made similar to "Oblivion" ( like the OP mentioned ) Then it's going to be a class game and i cant wait, I think Oblivion has a very good set up for offline PVE RP and adding the online option to a great game beefing up the graphics and open loot pvp, Just AMAZING.

( i do though not expect it to mimic Oblivion in any way exept by using all the top quality features of it, from the skill system - thieving and general NPC interaction.

They dont want to limit us so there for Full PvP and the reson there isnt a PvE server is so we dont have to pick the server I.E WoW......

But it offers more PvE than PvP because if im right in sayin one of the reasons most people want to play this game is bcause it said on the trailer "full PvP" to get your attention. You can get attacked anywhere but it doesnt mean that you have to, for all we know we can all just become friends and never kill anyone in-turn eliminating the PvP factor (but as if thats going to happen) :P

hehe, i think many people here will see, that sometimes n a FFA PvP MMO is less PvP than in many limited PvP MMO's :P

You can attack everyone, bot no one says that it is an good idea..
