They actually say that your mount won't just vanish when you get off it so I think it will be possible.

as it stands now - yes, but stabling a mount should be safe. they shouldnt be too easy to steal

Its even a feature in the flagging.pdf that sais you get flagged criminal when 'taming' / stealing someone elses mount.

www.mortalonline.com -> combat - > flagging system , scroll down to the pdf.

Also , there are discussions and polls about the mounts, so locked due to duplicate.
