preorder prices, cancels and others

I'll go straight forward:

1. will you post prices of digital download, boxed and collector's box before 29th ? I don't want to preorder a digital download version, when its price will be 5$/€ lower than boxed - even If I will be able to switch between them, as you mentioned in latest newsletter.

2. Will I be able to cancel my preorder ? It's not the same as forgetting about the game forever. Other things may occur, and I may not be able to pay at the day of billing.

3. It is being said, that preorder type of beta is a measure of overall interests in MO. What with those, who will only block the beta spot ?
Is there a possibility that you will secure 1-3k preorders for long time active forum members ?

4. beside paypal, there's a question about paying with debit cards - very popular in europe visa electrons. But is there eventually a chance to use money transfers ?

1.There will probably be a difference in price because they would have to ship out the LE and the boxed versions.

2. im pretty sure that the second you click to agree to pay they will take the funds..(for one thing this was a self-funded game.. im guessing there running low on funds and the pre-order will be necessary for "world-wide" servers.) If all ur pre-ordering for is the beta your account will probably be banned if u cancel just fyi.

3. In most cases if your pre-ordering you want to be in beta.. and if not y not wait till release, cause then u can see user content and all that good stuff.

4. Im pretty sure u can tie ur debit card to your paypal account so, if paypal is accepted you should be fine.

sorry joszek i dont have an answer for you, just wanted to attach another question.

What time exactly on June 29th? and also what timezone? Is it just going to be 12am in Sweden then store opens?

Which brings me to the next issue. I faintly recall a slight overcrowding on the servers when the coutdown finished ;P . Do you think the server will be able to handle hundreds of orders in less than a minute? (especially since you said first-come-first-serve). I just want to make sure i can squeeze my order in the first 2k and not get booted cause of server lag.

I fear more of those who buy like 10-20 or even more preorders and sell them when all 10k are sold out on E-Bay for double the price!

And yes Regicide. I´m sure the servers will crash in the first few minutes, like you said it happened when the countdown finished ....

I believe they said they wouldn't give us the time it opens, which in theory could solve that.. The counter crashed the site because all 20 billion of us hit refresh as soon as the counter hit 0 lol

Sorry, but no. We want to make sure that we list the correct prices (we're not just randomly picking numbers) and we're actually still in the middle of arranging everything. Those already in Combat Beta will keep their spots in the future Beta stages, and several more are yet to be invited. However, those who are invited will still need to buy the game to be able to play the game from first day at launch. And the safest way to have a guaranteed spot at launch is to pre-order.

Regarding reserved pre-orders, I'm afraid this would require additional functions for both the shop and for the account management. This might sound like a small thing but I can assure you it's not. We will be using the major certified and secure MMO account service provider, and while very safe for both you and us, "exceptions" like this is conflicting with their usual way of doing things. Thus, it would be very expensive and require a lot of development time.

We will ask full price.
In this phase we of course cannot compete with the prices and distribution of mass-market MMOs. Although we do aim to be at least a bit cheaper than Darkfall (Digital Only, 50€)

Thx Mats for clearing things up. Nice that you did not forget aboutvisa electron, as it opens the field for many gamers in central europe. Hope I'll be able to use it to pay monthly fees too, and those will be competitive as well (read as: helluva cheaper than rivals) ;P

Talime: almost all banks in europe offer their customers payment cards (mostly visa electron) free of charge or take small fee (around 10€ for 2 years).

I wonder what kind of bank in Germany takes 40€ for a plastic card offering the only way to take up your own money from cash dispenser ? :|

my bank wants 20 euros a year for it ... and as i said i only need it one time or once a year ... and every other cards i find are real credit cards (which i don´t want) or i have to open a new account on an other bank -.-"

Hmm...don't you germans have something similar like americans have, which is a payment card bought in shops (supermarkets for example) and working in the same way as credit cards ?
The only difference is that you can use those cards only as long, as you got money on it. You cannot refill them. So basically you buy a 25$ card, and you can pay with it for something being worth max 25$.
And I think I read somewhere that such cards are available in europe, and Germany is one of such countries where it should be available.

Hm that sounds an awfully lot like Darkfall's release to me, which is incredibly disappointing. In other words, you just gamble with your 50-60 bucks and hope the game is everything they said it would be. If it's not your out of luck. And don't count on any sort of guaranteed beta or trial, because that wont happen.

I made one mistake with Darkfall, how can you convince me, and the hundreds of others in my position, that Mortal Online will not be another Darkfall with features left out, others twisted (a mine is a big node not a deep cavern mine), 4 hour queues, no player housing, pre-planned building plots, a massive grind, crippling lag, and many other irritating darkfall featuers which were played out to be reversed or a non-issue pre-release?

But what should SV do is to release MUUUUUUUUCH more concrete info before 29 ... ie we still don't know anything about magic, and very few about housing, etc... The PPT was great but there is still too much unknown stuff.

Exactly, I am willing to accept a no-trial period at first but what needs to be done is show us EVERYTHING there is to know about the game, the good and the bad, in either another powerpoint or in a very honest review. We didn't get either from darkfall and it was a major upset. Information is Key, and I do mean honest information before release not any of that "well in the future we will have this, so we say we have it now" issue.

Don't get me wrong I really want this game to succeed, I have just had my heart broken so many times and it has left a deep hole in my wallet.

no we don´t have this, the only thing we have are prepaid credit cards which works like handycards you recharge them if you need, but as i said they cost up to 40 euros

hopefully they get paypal works ... because of that i wasn´t able to try darkfall but i think i haven´t missed something

In france debit cards are credit cards which block payments if there is not enough money on the bank account, but otherwise it's the same (and often french debit cards can't be used to pay via internet)
