So... Lets say the penalty is a few wanted-posters (maybe with a map of where he/she was last seen) and a reward for the kill. Highlevel bountyhunters would make that story short I believe And when that person go into town the guards will come. So in that way you'll be banned from the civilisation. I guess there's lots of ways to solve the problem so I vote for an open pvp (as said with guarded places) |

Welcome to the forums! Having wanted posters can be a bit of an issue though, especially when it starts clustering up all over the place. Though I do like the idea of getting rewards for the kill, certainly gives players wanting to be bounty hunters a more active role, and provides an incentive for them to do so. Criminals wouldn't totally be banned from civilisation, perhaps from NPC run cities, but I'm sure there will be player run criminal havens that flutter about. Though the risks associated with such locations would be pretty high, bounty hunters would certainly try and come after you and use these havens as a first place to look. In my opinion though this is very realistic, it provides an avenue to be a criminal as well as the risks associated with your actions. But it also means you aren't restricted from the entire world and will still be able to interact with other players, even if those players are just criminals as well.

Coming from playing WoW, I wouldn't be too keen on a BG system again. It's convenient for finding a quick, balanced game, but the result I saw was max level players just hanging around the major cities and never stepping outside of them because a battle was just a click away.
Since this game isn't based on two opposite sides, BG zones sound unneccessary since there isn't a need to balance sides out evenly. If the Devs can faciliate a few hotspot zones on the world map that PVPers will like to hang out at, that would be cool. On the other hand, maybe some instanced PVP features wouldn't be a bad idea as long as they aren't turned into a focus for getting gear... such as WoW's arena... *coughs* A fun part of the game at times but the rewards practically ruined other PVP aspects in that game. One thing I think the Devs should be careful about is that PVPing will be a hassle for some if this game is full loot. Full loot adds alot of excitement and adrenaline to encounters, but it limits the amount one can really get away with PVPing, trying new skills, and basically having the freedom to take a risk and rush into a fight. So basically... I feel that if there are any instanced PVP aspects in this game, full loot shouldn't be enabled inside them. |

the only type of instanced pvp should be an arena... having said hat it would be wicked sick to be fighting your buddy in an arena and get jumped but some other guies, as fore other "instanced" pvp like ctf and bomb running....GO PLAY UNREAL.

I do hope they have open arenas though. I loved back when WoW didn't have instanced PVP, where tournaments and PVP challenges were being done in the arena in Stranglethorn Vale... ahh good times. It was great to be able to spectate as well and the open feel of running in and out without a loading zone made it worthwhile to fight there.

I want a sandbox.
EVE has kept me for over 2 years mostly from it's open world risk. When you die you loose your ship and it's fittings along with whatever you had in cargo. I want a persistant open world. I don't want WoW's zoned battlegrounds. |

I would really love open world pvp (obviously) and also something like a battle arena, gladiator style. It would be awesome since you can compete in the Arena for fame and perhaps money. Also betting on the combatants would be great!...but perhaps that is asking way too much

Open world pvp all the way instance Bg are boring. I miss going out and looking for people to gank not having them handed to me in a staged fight. The main thing that got me into was wow was open world pvp. Yes wow was my first mmorpg /wrist i missed out on alot of game
I remember the first time i played i made a NE and most of you know in order to reach the alliance side you would need to take a boat that would lead you to menethil harbor and you travel to the Dwarf city. I will always remember the first time i got out of menethil harbor and 20 horde all lvl 40+ were raiding menethil harbor i didnt know wtf going on since it was my first mmorpg and being i was level 10 so they were all skulled to me but they had mounts. They were raiding i was scared out of mind being that was the first time i encountered the Horde and they would constantly gank me . But i missed trying to dodge them at the same make my way towards the Dwarf land. Then they started added Bg and thats when i started hating wow. And all of world pvp was lose and wow went down a slow spiral to shitvile. |

Wild pvp.. one thing i liked rolling in Age of conan was being able to slaughter anyone anywhere (cept in the cities) this is a major attraction to me and to many many others -- the difference in this game will be that part where you build your own path so there really shouldnt be major unbalances. test your mettle anywhere with anyone and see how good you compare

I have no idea, why such topic has been opened. Since MO. has no instances, neither in pvp.

Banok - Yes you can. Instanced PvP will reduce the number of combatants looking for PvP out in the world, making fights less frequent and less chaotic.
As someone else said, I'm sure there will be events and stuff for instanced PvP, but it shouldn't be an all the time kind of feature. The game is based around open PvP, and instanced PvP detracts from that.

Bounty hunting just isn't feasible. With 10,000+ players online and God knows how many offline how would we be expected to find this single lone outlaw? Even if the bounty board told us if the player was online, what zone he was in, and a picture of the character, without some sort of fast travel there would be no way to ever catch him. Unless as you moved through each town you could check the bounty board again to get an update on his details. It sounds fun really, but still not feasible.
