isn't this an open pvp game? isn't that the main reason we're all here?
i might be ok with instanced arenas for sporting events... and by "ok" i mean i won't see it as a legitimate reason to try and organize a villagers attack with pitch forks and knifes on their offices. but not instead of open pvp.

Instanced sports (no weapons = stun damage = KO, not dead) or instanced arenas (with death, solo or team based, à la Mount&Blade) are OK.
Other than that, I don't want any instances for PvP (at all). |

on second thought, even on arena matches i would rather we have the ability to watch it among the crowd, and actually meet players there, & maybe even throwing things into the arena... i mean, come on, medieval Europe and we're not allowed to be hooligans?

I voted for both, so I'm adding a short explanation.
The world is already going to be 100% open PvP, from what Ive seen thus far that seems to be set in stone (thankfully). What would be very interesting to see in addition to open world PvP, is NPC (or player) organized tourneys. Offering an instanced or semi-instanced PvP session with no death/looting and some kind of prize system would be a great way to show off your guild's skills to potential employers (if you were a mercenary guild, for example), make a bit of coin/win a trophy for the guild hall, or just for recognition on the server. |

PvP everywhere but I want to be able to set up fights as training or sports fights, where I only go KO not die, I mean come one let a player loot my equipment only cause I want to play a little around and test my skills is not fun.
Well this could either be done trough some form of interplayer contract or by magically setting up a no dying zone(in that case there would be physically representations that would need to be destroyed for the saftey of this zone to end and this represantations would have to be repaired and possibly recharged). |

FFA PvP is a good thing, but there should be non-PvP zones. A little, but they are a must. Of course, every activity in these zones must be restricted: no trade, no skill/spell/ability usage - only chat, move, gestures and equip.

If you want PVP instances go to guild wars, or WOW why try to make this game into a game that is already published. As for me I thing it is a waist. But like most of the games out today they target the masses which tend to be full of Carebears. Hopefully the Devs will not turn MO into a Carebear game.

In high profile areas, if you kill one guard, two more should come at you during your attempt to escape the city/area, you kill those, then four more come at you. Your best option would be to run, but IMO that's where you need to add some immobilizing skills to the guards' list. No perma-stun BS, mind you, but something that gives them time to catch you and beat on you every so often.

You REALLY did NOT need this poll LOL, the GMs already stated that this game would be a more PvP based game than PvE, meaning that their will be PvP EVERYWHERE, so those who voted instanced, im sorry, but their probably will not be battle fields for specific PvP battles :P
Also, if u noticed in the trailer, the 2 GMs met in a cave (dont no if they WERE GMs, so just go along with it) after the one entered the cave( Im thinking cave= not a specific battle ground) sand they started to square off to kill each otehr so in other before the dragon interupted so in other words its a FULL SCALE PvP game not in specific area only!!!!!! ;P >.<
