Read a post on slashdot today about why there aren't successful successors to UO, and MO was mentioned so I decided to check it out.

mmorpg.com when they first added your game to the site.
When I'm in a MMO lull and looking for new games I usually head there just to find the title names. That's all I get there though; their forums are too immature for me. |

I'm a beta manager in another MMO which is sport related (Football Manager Live)
During a discussion, someone linked up to a forum post about how Star Wars Galaxies bit the dust when they changed the way the game worked. From said topic, someone else mentioned Mortal Online as a true sandbox and it intrigued me.. so I signed up! |

Age of Conan forums, funny thing was I gave the site one look moved on for about a month. Than I saw someone mention it again and I looked more in depth and was like omg omg! Then I saw the power point and read about the planned features and was like omg omg omfg (thats about the point I reached the number of weapons craftable). Been following since then, may 2009, as it says on my join date.

I didnt get refered to by a friend, MO member, or dev. Nor a news site or GC.
I was in a very hungry search for a change in gaming. A change from traditional FPS online games. I was browsing youtube and found a video on Mortal. Further searching lead me to an mmorpg site where i found a more detailed intro on Mortal. I then made my way to the website where i met all of you! Awesome!

I found MO by accident, quite literally, while searching for something to do. I was bored to death with every MMO I was playing, and had actually resorted to killing time in EVONY!
Since then, I have now passed out at least a dozen little pieces of paper with mortalonline.com out to friends and co-workers, as well as talked about it in every forum I happen across. |

Hi,
Other I was boring from ordinary games. My Age of Conan char was on last level, so I was trying to find something interesting on internet. I tried google. For example MMORPG online games website or something like that. I don't remember it because it was when only Mortal Online website exist and nothing more. So, I know about this game and I am watching it really long time. There was trailer, where the knight is riding the dino?? and he is leaving the gate of main city. Then different warrior is on his horse inside the evil swamp and then they will both meet in cave where is Dragon. When this trailer was finished. I knew that this is that game what I am looking for. And since this time I am waiting till now on release. And I think, my day is near. |

It was a funny thing actually...
I picked up this chick at a bar and she took me back to ehr palce and we had some drinks and listned to music and danced and shit... After we dank all the booze she had it was like 8 or 9am the next day and we crashed. The night before we were talking about what we did and stuff and she mentioned Mo but I couldnt remember that particular convo. Anyway. I went and seen her a few times over the next 2 weeks and we were all happening and shit. Then one wednesday night about 3 weeks after we met, I went out with some mates and got totally trashed and somehow I ended up outside her apartment... serenading her. She lives on the 2nd floor of her apartment block and I was down on the street tryin to sing " here without you baby "... 4am... yeah all is good. Suddenly some old wench 2 balconies across starts flipping her lid at me and starts throwing shit at me... screaming at me and shit... musta been rubbish bin day, coz there were bins out so I hid behind a bin and lifted the lid and used it as a shield... Somehow in my drunken state I and the bin fell over and the old horror whacked me with a cd case and a disk landed on ym chest. I had no clue what it was, but ended up takin it home. Later that day after I sobered up and felt alive enough to get on my pc, I found the disc and it just said MO, written in black oil marker. So i go on my pc and whacked the disc inot my dvd drive and ran winrar. Unpacked and installed and then I got ont he MO site and signed up and thats how I found out about MO. On the saturday nite after I went and seen Julie Green-eyes... the chick... she told me she copied her MO download and burnt it for her neighbour and gave it to her. The old harpy just picked it up and threw it at me as it was close to hand. Julie Green-eyes did not appreciate me waking and upsetting her old friend and did not want to see me again after that. Julie Green-eyes was interstate for work during the week, but I forgot all about it. So anyways... 2 weeks after that I gave Julie Green-eyes a call to ask if she'd be interested in getting together for a drink.. she agreed but said, " I'm still a bit annoyed that you upset my neighbour, Maya ". So just for a laugh I said... " Cant we just pretend that she guard whacked me?". And then Julie Green-eyes said " GoodBye!". Oh well... some chicks have no sense of humour! Been havin more fun with MO anyways!!! So yeah, that's how I found about MO. Some old battleaxe trippin on her meds and vodka throwing a disc at me. Awerelius |

I first heard about Mortal Online when the announcement was made and saw the CGI video which I believe it was the one shown at E3. Saw the vid on TV, X-play or Attack of the Show, i dont remeber.
Then I somewhow "stumbled" upon this site and just recently noticed that you were about to release it. And after seeing a few beta vids (if only I had joined the Open Beta |

I JUST found out about MO from MMORPG.com today. I've been dying for a completely solid skill based MMO. I've heard about issues (i'm not new to MMOs so it's expected) and I'm willing to purchase and stick with it for a while to do what I can as a player and hope everything becomes what it sounds like it can be

I've been reading about MO for some time on different mmo forums (mainly mmorpg.com), saw all the hate going around, and started thinking to myself: "if some people devote their lives to flaming a game that they don't even play, that game must be of some interest!"
So I read more about it, and the whole concept just got to me. I realized that the idea behind the game, the devs' ambitions, and the commitment of the playerbase, where to great to be ignored. So I bought it. Then the whole downloading/patching/installing purgatorium started. Suffice to say, it made me start drinking again. But I got through it, and I finally got the damned thing installed. Then the whole memory leak thing started. So I continued drinking, lurked the forums for a while, and finally managed to tweak a truce between smooth gameplay and acceptable graphic levels. Then I started playing. I got lost, I got ganked, I got robbed, I got stuck, I fought epic battles with pigs and deer, and I witnessed the miracle of rabbits falling from the sky and horses walking on their heads. I saw a lot of dirty penises in the wilderness. I started hanging out at the library reading books I had no use for (that whole "you can never get too educated" crap they tell you proved to be total bs after all). I became a master pig assasin, and a celebrated lumberjack - the naked kind of course. And my journey has just begun, for I am enjoying myself immensely and will surely stay with this unpolished gem of a game for as long as possible! |

Then some guy in a forum told about Mortal Online.. I googled it and it looked great! Wanted to participate in the Open Beta... but I missed the last date for registering Then I looked at the forums for half a month, at release I jumped in IRC and talked with the players and then 2 days after release I bought it ^^ |
