alternative forum ranking

what if instead of ranking by post count, you'd do it based on average thread ranking?

sort of encourage people to start more meaningful discussion threads (for example, this one being mostly meaningless would decrease my ranking

).

I never rank threads to be honest. It's a feature that I'm not quite used to. I have given rep to a couple of posters, maybe it could be rep based. Though I'd hate to see someone get bad rep simply because they don't like you being #1, haha.

Not that it matters. Do you honestly think that having a higher post count makes you in any way better than anyone else? I don't think people post meaningless threads because they want a higher post count, I think it's more because they either don't feel that it's meaningless when they do it or they just want to be heard.

I don't trust anyone with less than 100 posts....they are just wasting everyones time with mindless dribble.

until now. i gave this thread a 1 star "terrible" rank.
