Ikoroki is nothing more than a legendary NPC crafter, that can make a good weapon for some players. Nothing says these weapons may not be made by players, or that Ikoroki makes better weapons than the players (he won't). He will just give the winner of the contest a lot of options and some free materials to make one (1) weapon, that may take awhile to come by if you start from scratch.

Ikoroki is also the character that was played in the beta preview video.

That sure explains his getting defeated in the video, hehe.

So if all stays the same, we know that:

His name is Ikoroki.
He is a legendary blacksmith.
He is Khurite.
He is being awfully generous and giving one person a really cool weapon.

how do we know that ikoroki isn't just an invention to makes the prize more striking?

We don't, but it's also the name of the character Henrik was playing in beta, so there's atleast some existence to base this on.

I would definitely be looking for this guy. If he is Khurite, and the Mor-Ikil isn't directly available, it would probably be that guy that has it or can teach it.

I really am glad they didn't tote a Kallard, that's far too obvious.
