Default Noticing a trend

Could the moderators of the forum please use a bit more customer service skills. You are representing the company after all. I am really interested in this game, but nothing, and I mean nothing will cause me to lose interest faster than a company who's representative are being rude to the very people who will be paying their bills.

For one I am a little tired of the "use search". It is not the customer's job to research your product. It is YOUR job to promote your product and tell the customers what the features are. Flippant answers like that and you could lose a customer and several of his friends before they even get a chance to see what the game is all about.

It is just unprofessional.

I disagree with you.

I don't feel that there being rude. There having to listen to hundreds of people ask the same questions over, and most of us don't understand the technology issues they have to deal with. And on the other hand all the developers who are helping us are trying to build a game that will make you happy.

As I have said before, they don't have hundred's of workers on the game like WoW and Eve does, they only have around 15. Yet, the expectations from the customers are so high.

I don't know how they're being at the moment, but they are prone to the occasional about of rudeness, like all others. Nothing wrong with asking for them to be kindly mods.

I understand both sides, but the fact is search will always be rarely used on forums, it has always been so and always will be. I just accept it.

I don't think they are being rude, moreso you are used to the devs of other games speaking to you like you're a baby. The devs here treat you like an adult. They joke, they can be sarcastic. They act like normal people.

Customers shouldn't have to use search. And even if they should an answer such as "Hello valued customer, we are very glad you are interested in our game. Please use the forums search functionality, it will provide the answers you are looking for" is a million times better than "use search".

Actually, I don't think the mods are paid, aren't they volunteers? And telling you to use search is doing their job. Sadly, I think you're being lazy, and the game doesn't even have an official release date.

I know that some things do new better explanation and thats why you wouldn't use the forums, but there are 15 people building the game and are your customer service. They don't have hundreds of people in India here to help you understand the game.

First, I'm not talking about my posts, I'm talking about general mod behavior in serveral threads.

Volenteers or not, they represent the company. If you all think it is great to lose customers just because the mods don't want to learn customer service, then hay, more power to you.

I for one wouldn't want this game to lose a single customer. Is it really that hard to say "Please use the search functionality" instead of "use search"?

The first thing to do when looking for info on a game isn't to jump into the forums, but to read the faqs or wiki it. Most questions have already been asked, answered and asked again. Show a little autonomy and search, honestly.

Ok I didnt catch your part about the "use search" remarks that we often get.. And I have gotten them before myself *looks at Mr.Winter* lol.. But if you care so much about a game you should want to search all of the gory little secrets about it. So I can see both sides here. Maybe since you posted your hurt/offended feelings they will in fact be more curteous in the future and give longer reasons that say the same thing but are more polite.
Still dont see them as that rude. I call it matter of fact.. Thor went on a thread closing binge last night which I thought was well executed.

Nevermind you guys are missing the point. This has nothing to do with me. This is about customer service.

Umm, saying anything implying customer service, would mean they have customers, as of right now, they don't have any customers. When you pay money for the game, and they don't help you, come back and complain.

Actually I find the general Mod behavior here more professional than almost any board I've been on.

They don't let 30 threads asking the same questions run at the same time.

You might think that they need to answer the same questions over and over day after day for weeks and months at a time, but most of us agree people should use the search function.

Then why not be a little more polite? That's all I'm saying. A "please" and "thank you" can go a long way to retaining customers.

Look at the forums as though you would look at a war. The mods are the soldiers. Over time, the war will wear them out and their patience will thin. Some that used to be nice will be mean, those who where mean will be meaner. What was once a 10 sentence reply is now a few words.

Don't take the internet personally. And they're doing a fine job btw, much better then any other forum I've been too.

You're wrong, "use search" is in the rules, they are enforcing the rules, it's that simple.

That goes for "customers" as well. A nice attitude gets you better "customer service". So make sure you know being nice is a two way street.

You're not a customer, and mods aren't customer support. It's just like going to wal-mart, and ask a random worker something. He will say, not my department/don't know, and/or go ask customer services.

When you are starting a new thread, please be sure there is no active thread discussing the matter. Are you unsure, use the search feature and find out. Likewise if you need answers on any question, use the search feature. When you are posting, be sure to keep it on-topic. We strive to keep the forum nice and clean so keep discussions about the same topic in one thread.

From the rules.

We are volunteers, you have not paid anything to be here. We are limited by time, and we enforce the rules as we can. If you have a problem with the moderation or the moderators, take it up in a PM.

We strive to keep the forum clean and informative and a conduit for discussions, and there aren't enough hours in the day to do that perfectly, so I say use search as you have noticed.
