COMBAT MECHANICS!!!!!!!! , everything else can wait combat mechanics will either make or break this game in my opinion. When combined everything else is just as important but no single thing is as important as this IMO.

Combat mechanics would be absolutely fine, but i would first know about mechanics if its clear those can be created and implemented.
Wishes of devs are only as real as my wishes

I want to hear some music. Cities, atmosphere (like in Oblivion)... And dont make every music Epic. I think in UO, that simple minocpos or Britain music was the best music to keep good atmosphere, of all other games. It just maked me feel.... Good.
And from the list, i think i would chose "player houses & city building" and "battle-scale & sieges (destructible housing?)" because i think it MUST be together. |

I would like to see combat mechanics most, because I want to know exactly how the combat will be. I hope you can swing your weapon however you want with your mouse or something. And if you move your mouse forward very quickly you stab at the person that would be fricking cool!

I want to know about battle-scale & sieges (destructible housing?). Especially if any type of massive sieges (kindof like age of conan) is going to be implemented.Would be fun to know the guild effort it includes and how it will work.
Some information about combat mechanics and technical information are pretty good too. (Many hardware fans out there would like to know about tech stuff the game has.) |

I would not mind getting more info on races, classes or combat mechanics. But i voted for AI i would like to know if the AI is going to be intelligent in this game. Meaning will they just do their routine walk from point A to point B. Or will it be more advanced (like I'm hoping) They will wander to all different sections might set up camp in certain zones. Basically the unpredictable AI sensing sounds maybe so you cant just walk around them without them noticing.

if u ask me the combat mechanics and world and graphics are insanely huge but if u want this game to hit high ur gonna need something that no computer MMO has even seen in a large scale..... destroyable environment
i mean really every MMO you see has pvp , pve, mounts, pets dont get me wrong they support the game massively but they dont attract the players cause they EXPECT them to have those features but if u can even just destroy a tree even how many games can honestly say yes if u dont like the environment then destoy it please for the time being how insane would that be say ur an archer ur hopping between buildings attacking and avoiding someone well thats all good but if the other person could use like a jugernaut skill and charge THROUGH the buildings how insane would that be itd make anykind of fighting equal as long as u use ur head and think on how to excape and attack dodge weave and sneak imagine the advertising.... "Tired of archers and mages running away from u and ducking behind buildings??? well heres ur chance to have a better fight... introducing destructable environment! thats right destructable environment. run through the build , shoot through the building, hell just knock it down, why use the front door when all the power is yours?? of course u can just jump over it but who wants to do that really :P" |

Technical info. I'm a sap for any info given on the physics in the game and the interaction you can have with the enviroment. The more the better. Gah wish I could choose two options. I also would like to hear more about class roles as well and how they work, especially in groups and with other players.

1) Combat Mechanics
2) Crafting/Trade skill Mechanics 3) Magic System Mechanics Basically, anything getting into the meat of the subject. Lore, the world, etc. are nice, but the discussions to voice your opinions will be on the mechanics. The earlier the the better. |

I voted for combat mechanics since I understood that you already stated that combat would be in first person and every blow would be hand-controlled or so. Are we going to see some kind of blocking system and will we have hit-area system of sorts. Getting hit in a body part with weak armor will result in more damage than hitting a heavily armored body part, and/or more damage for hitting the head and neck area rather than arms or legs. Also, you should have a chance of decreasing your enemy's attacking speed and power by hitting his arms and also have chance of decreasing your enemy's moving speed and evasion by hitting his legs. I'd love to see this in action. please make the special moves (melee secondary skills) to be executed hit by hit, kinda like the combos in AoC, just better!
you should also come up with something special for spellcasting, aiming your blows and arrow shots by hand should be fun and easy to design, but coming up with something similar for spellcasting is a lot harder. Sure, you could aim fireballs in first person but how should we deal with cone aoe and aoe's? Cone aoe's could be aimed like laser beams, and an aoe could fired as a grenade or a mortar of sorts, so it's actually affected by gravity and creates a huge explosion where-ever it happens to land, but all that sounds a little far fetched for me. Especially since it would make pvp spellcasting as hard as hell, when dealing with fast characters you'd have to use aoe's and bind's just to land hit's. (unless you make single target spells like homing missiles, so all you have to do is to select a hit-area, like legs, chest, head and so on, hitting different areas of the body could again, result in different damaqe and special effects) However, controlling spellcasting with a set of hotkeys is just about as entertaining as watching paint dry and leaves very little room for strategy. Your survival often depends on cooldowns and the right timing of spells, which makes the combat very repetitive. 1. pull with single target nuke, 2. bind it down, 3. nuke some more, the mob is dead before it even gets close enough to hit u, well this just an extremely crude example, but you get the idea. Fighting in group with a spellcaster is even more boring in the long run, since you don't even have worry about your own survival. lastly, healing ultimately faces the same problems as spellcasting as the skill system is set so that a character that can actually fight and heal, will do worse job in healing than a character which is designed only for healing. I expect that the prequisites of the different class guilds will still leave some room for thinking, but still, playing a character that's job based almost entirely on staring the health bars of your teammates is pretty much the same as watching paint dry, at least, as long the tank's keep the aggro (i wonder if monster aggro can be counted as part of combat mechanics) Last edited by l0kkinen : 23rd July 2008 at 11:08. |

I would very much like to see more of the world that mortal will be in. This will show the basic outline of what the game will become or has to offer..
Thank you

I think that we should see more of the gameplay/combat mechanics etc. Yes, the graphics are good, but graphics don't make a game - the gameplay does. I would really like to see how the combat system works, only then we can really get an idea about how the game is going to be....
