i think the homepage poll is outdated (since we got our skill & attribute review) and too general too really say what you want to see - lore can mean anything from races to world's mythology, gameplay can mean anything from combat to crafting.
so express what you want to see in the best way possible - say it

nobody? ok, I'll go first.
personally, I'd go for races: they said that they will reveal races one at a time, so I'd say the next update is a great place to start (and not with humans - that's cheating i think races are great way to hook people to the game - sometimes people just see a unique race they like and say "i want to play this" and become automatic fans. its also probably the best way to give us a general idea of the setting and whats included in it - especially since this is mostly a PtP game and we'll encounter more playable races then monsters.

Id Love to read about the races and racialish mounts(I read there is mounts that might as well be racial cause where they are, I bet if you want a half orc mount and your human you probly got to steal it or some thing) But yeah RACES FTW!

One of the developers dropped a tantalizing hint in response to a crafting post i'd made, asking if the crafting system could be personalizable and intuitive, so I'm all for hearing more about how that'll work.

ok now it's my turn, correct? ok I was gonna say I would like to see in depth info on the combat system.but that would require them to have some idea of the races? correct? In order for them to initiate combat for each races style. SO, I guess I am saying I would like to see alot of info on classes &/or races. maybe even their jobs, armors & weapons maybe and yeah maybe their mounts. That would make a real nice MO "gift" that keeps on giving...

I'm reading this forum and following information of this game because I'm fascinating with the phrase "Experience true real-time combat where you decide every move your character makes".
I would like to know something more about this, I suppose that is the combat mechanism (other colleagues talk about that). In some place you say that the gamer skills will be important and that is creating me high expectations about this game. I imagine fights of four or five minutes similar to soul calibur with swords, daggers, shield, chains, magic uff i need to know more about this please. |

What aspect of Mortal Online would you like to know more about?
World lore: 11% Graphics: 11% Gameplay: 51% Skill system: 27% Total votes: 15565 <EDIT> I sound kind of ungrateful for the information we were given, but really that update was appreciated. Thanks for all your hard work devs! Now back to pointing out problems... </EDIT> Over half (though just barely) of the people that have voted on that thing voted "Gameplay." Yet we got information in the form of an update on a topic a quarter of the people voting wanted... Why is this? I really couldn't care less about races and lore yet... well, I do, but that info can be added in later as races are fleshed out, some even added after release. What CAN'T be added after release is the gameplay, and that needs to be some solid stuff BEFORE the game comes out, not afterwards. Combat, housing, crafting, character creation, magic, trade systems, politics; all of them are unavoidable parts of players' experiences in MMORPGs, and to feed us information about the second most asked for topic, the skill system, which was asked for only half as much as the other topic, gameplay, seems to me to be asking for a bit of mistrust, as far as listening to player feedback you asked for is concerned. Even acknowledging that you SAW the results would have been acceptable.

i have the feeling that the poll isn't so much of an info-election as it is a general "suggestion" the Dev's might take into consideration.
though i do think maybe the negative reaction they got to saying that the game has classes was the main reason they choose to show us how things work...

Not to mention that explaining the gameplay would be a pretty Herculean task in itself, since there's so much ground to cover. I agree with f0rd, though, the poll is there for a reason.

More infos about the fighting system and general gameplay would be great.
I´d like to see information about the different fighting types (melee, ranged, mounted, magic). I am also interested if there is a physics engine integrated in the combat system and if so, how it affects combats (ranged combat for example). Further it would be nice to get some information if there are hitboxes at the characters or if the system will work an other way. So every information about the fighting system would be appreciated from my side. |
