Atm there's only about 6-7 Member on the irc and we want more to join!
It's unofficial but there's a Dev in it (Denny), but he doesn't want to say anything about the game =(.

Um yeah I found that confusing too. But I did get into it.. When it asks you to register just click continue. Then it has 3 options click the change server and join the channel one. Then type /join irc.stratics.com/mortal in box below. (Wait a few mins after you type it.. it was slow for me)

I don't know of an easier way.. lol

Hrmm.. Since when did MIRC require a registration and $20? I think I've been doing myself a favor by avoiding IRC for the last few years.

I have put up a web based irc chatroom for whose of you who aren't familar with irc clients and/or who are behind firewalls at work. The website will automatically log you into the #mortal channel on Stratics. Once you're connected to their server, please change your nickname from WebUser to your Mortal Online forum name.

So much for attempting to connect with a console-based client with SSH, the datacenter has port 6667 blocked. Unless this irc server has a secondary port for connections then I'm not able to connect at work. :P

Edit: Connects on 6669 w/o issues.

It doesn't really require that registration, but it'll always pop that one window up at statup, if you don't. I just got back to irc a year ago, after a longer break and there are more than enough alternatives to MIRC.
Maybe I'll join the chan sometimes soon, but I don't really like the stratics net, I'd rather stay at the good old quakenet, THE gaming net imho.

I personally use IceChat, it's 100% free and is very easy to use.

The IRC outdated? No not really.
Yeah, the internet is not geeks only anymore and nowadays a big part of communication is through IMs, Voice Chats and Social Community Sites, but I don't really see the IRC being out of the picture yet.

I don't see the problem with being connected to more than one server at a time? All this Quakenet here, Stratics there or "insert your favorite net here" comparisons are making me dissy.

I'm currently connected to 3-4 different networks.

I'm not dissing the Stratics net or anything it's just that the Quakenet is kinda like my home (if I had to choosed one of them to be) and more and more of the new communities are starting to go stratics. It's just the feeling of have all people at one point.
I said i'd eventually join too, so I will do some time soon.

If they want IRC to survive, they better cook up some ways to make it more user-friendly.
