I think healing should be kept simple ...like in ultima online
1. for most players a heal skill so they can use bandages... of corse they would have to use up some points from there pool 2. magic users should have a heal spell and later as thier skill in magic goes up greater heal. 3. potion |

Personally I prefer AoC-style healing for PvP. So, you cast HoT on your team on start of fight, support your HoT through the fight, and have possibility to burst heal whole team with AoE, but you don't need to concentrate on healing in battle. You could go crowd controlling, damage dealing, melee and etc, but you don't need to just stand and cast heals on your teammates. Yes, healer's attacks could be less (or even MUCH less) effective, than attacks of more 'DD dedicated' classes, but still useful.
It's a 'fun' way of healing, imho. |

I'd say it again : we do not need this kind of realism.. or prepare yourself to camp your bed for a week after you received a sword hit.
Anyway, I like healing classes, and as it has been said, you should look at Vanguard or WAR healers to find some cool way of gameplay :] (ie. Bloodmage or disciple of Vanguard, or Cultist and Warriorpriest of WAR) |

I like healers but in this case light heals would be better, being long time to cast or give out with medium return. make it worth while, or HoTs that are slightly effective but nothing special. needed but not overpowering.

I'd like a mix of several healing skills but no 100% clickies with 150m (aoe)range.
Maybe of some medical herbs and bandages for out of combat healing to speed up resting. Skills make things faster. Some 10-25% potions with high diminishing returns / cooldowns for anyone to use and created by someone with herbal, medical, alchemist skills. Some advanced healing, leeching, life transforming skills that are not easily aimable and skaling with range.

i think every class should have healing skill and be able to heal themselfs,it makes pvp more tactical and balanced... in other games usually the team who has healing classes has advantage.
Skill based healing ( magic healing or bandages like in UO ) and potions ! |

Take a look at Ryzom for healing... They have a good system. =)

As I think I've read in some other thread, the healing should be done using bandages or that the one doing the healing have to hold his/her hand over the wound for some time to heal it

I think everyone should be able to heal themselves if they acquire the skills to do so via bandages / magic. If someone chooses to skill themselves heavily toward healing then the heal either bandage or magic should just simply be a larger amount. Also potions thrown into the mix.
It is stated in a reply below that the game is first person view & healing a large amount of ppl either raid or grp will be difficult, if I am not reading it wrong>? 1st person view does not have anything to do with typically raid healing or grp healing. 99% of the time you are looking @ the health bars of many ppl and either click on their name or use a hot button to that persons name. If someone runs out of your range their SoL. You try to tell them quit running, which is a Noob mistake anyhow for some ppl. Unfortunately what I described is a downfall Imho having healers stare @ health bars all day long. I would love to see healers more involved somehow. I have played a healer in several games back to 1999 or so. |
