WATCH THIS VIDEO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO_4CM3-VPI Updated Video!:2/1/10 READ ME! It doesn't mater if you're running ATI or Nvidia you still may need the PhysX drivers. It will not mess your system up if you're running an ATI card. Try these steps before posting asking how to fix it. Guaranteed one of these will fix your problem. I made a quick video on how to execute the Beta Client. Give this a shot if you're having problems with the client. This method of execution is aimed for those users on Vista 64bit or Win7. If this little how to doesn't work, try some of the following: Step 1.) Download the drivers for your GPU(Graphics card). Nvidia Chipset Drivers http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us ATI Chipset Drivers http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Step 2.) So, if the drivers don't work try downloading the latest version of DirectX. DirectX Download http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Step 3.) So if none of those work then it maybe your PhysX engine. This won't mess up anything on your computer its just an engine that MO needs to run. PhysX Download (updated 2/11/10) http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_9.09.1112.html .Netframework Update http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en (FOR XP USE) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...9-81da479ab0d7 Kootenay posted something of interest for the current revision of beta. Quoted his post here: http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/3...-19-guide.html Quote:
Found that if you have any errors related to kernelbase.dll it is due to the patcher bugging out. You will have to uninstall and reinstall MO. My suggest is to keep the patch files, (Located *:\Programs(x86)\Star Vault\Mortal Online\mortalonline\) to avoid having to download them again. If you need any help hit me up. -Brono. Use this thread for Beta Execution issues and I will try and help resolve them. PS~ Also post Screenshots of you're errors. Makes it alot easier to help you.

Thanks, Brono, finally got it to work after doing ALL the steps you mentioned (some a couple of times, unsure what finally did the trick).
Your youtube video was a little fast for me to follow and hard to see (but then again, I'm a middle-aged man...) again, much appreciated! |

I've tried every step at the top, and still no luck. Still stuck at ' cache corrupt , filre 1/24 ' . It's not downloaded to my C drive, and I made a folder called ' Mortal Online and used that as the extraction point for the Rar, i'll try downloading to C drive, maybe that will work.
edit - Okay guys who are having trouble getting past the ' cache corrupt 1/24 ' area follow these steps. After changing your compatibility mode to windows xp service pack 2, and attempting to run mortal onine. When it tells you to pick a writable directory, pick the folder that says Mortalcache_beta , extend that folder and it will show an identical folder Mortalcache_beta , that is the one you will want to select to get the game to the startup screen. Worked for me, hopefully it works for you to. Last edited by Vaudince : 22nd July 2009 at 16:18. Reason: Cache corrupt fix action |

Okay got it to work finally!
Do all of the main steps described above This is what did it for me, I installed Netframe work 3.5 for vista x64, and then installed nVidia PhysX (even though I have an ATi card), then RESTARTED. This seemed to work for me maybe it will work for others with ATi cards and Vista x64. Cheers |

Try getting the lastest version of Direct X and updating your Drivers. Does your Graphics card support Direct X 10?
I only think this because of d3dx10_41.dll So it could be something to do with Your graphics drivers or the version of DXinstalled. Hope this helps |

Use the link I provided in the OP to download the latest version of Direct X that will solve your problem
ALSO... Just realized that the youtube video was out of sync with the audio. I am uploading a new one as we speak.

Nvidia BOUGHT Agea years back... the "Nvidia trick" isn't a trick, it's a REQUIREMENT to run the game. Just because you have an ATI card, doesn't mean you can skip this step.
It's doesn't install a graphics driver, but a CPU middle ware for in-game physics (software render), similar to Havok. Secondly, it doesn't matter what OS or video card you have, you must have the LATEST directX drivers installed. How you people not have automatic updates on and not have the latest drivers is just beyond me (bad personal PC habits or something), but the latest DX driver came out in MARCH. So if you haven't updated, then do so as the OP has already explained.

Yes...install them anyways...the agei physx driver...for a laymans explanation...isnt a video card driver...it's more akin to directX.

---IT WORKED, NOW I REALLY CAN PLAY. It's not fullscreen and it's lagging as hell in the "menu" tho, but that would be easy to change I guess. Thanks for the thread, I vote for sticky! Last edited by mosoloa1 : 23rd July 2009 at 19:39. Reason: Did fix the game |

Because you are using XP compatibility mode isn't an issue for you.
