I am sure as many of you know Gamespot is known as one of the biggest video game sites; with previews, reviews, and a massive community backing it. Its like a google for video games so to speak. However it recently has come to my attention that when you type "Mortal Online" on Gamespot, nothing shows up except for Mortal Combat Games.
I know we are a relatively small community atm, the forums only opened up April, but I know having something on GameSpot.com can give this game some credability this it deserves. I am just suggesting that the staff or something do something about it, so when I type "Mortal Online" I won't just see Mortal Combat! Lets get the word out about this game. |

I would say no right now. It fun having a small community. Anyways it will be put on gamespot soon enough as soon as that game thing that the devs are going to.

I'm kind of ambivalent about having more people aware of this game... I deeply enjoy how close knit and respectful the current membership of these forums are.

I agree with Lander it's so nice having such a small community. I like to keep the best kept secret in the MMO industry just that a secret for now.

Community is great... I don't want people spammin and doing stupid threads...
Keep it clean and dont get more work for the devs... They need time and they probbably dont want to spend it for banning spammers or deleting stupid threads. |

I bet you my life there are games on gamespot that none of you ever heard of. The fact is this game deserves to be reconized as a game. Having it on Gamespot just gives more benefits, we may recieve some new members in the forums. And its nice to have it on a database like Gamespot (i hate ign lol)

I am new here, so I don't think my opinion probably holds much water. But, I would have to agree with the idea of getting it recognized by Gamespot. Part of the building process for any game (especially MMOs) is the hype before it is released. It can only help insure that the developers have a nice, populated launch (and hopefully a profitable future as well). I am sure they will get some info up there as soon as they can.
Though I do understand everyone's concern about the community getting bigger. It is fun to be part of something new.

As much as I despise Gamespot(hey, if you have enough money you can get any game rated 9!) this game really should be there, the community as of now is far too small, especially if beta may launch around New Years, what are we going to have, 70-100 beta testers or something? Besides, if the community is large enough I can troll these forums all day rather than do anything else

I couldn't agree more. This game is waaaaayy too hard to find. The only way I found out about this game is because I was bored one day, and I wanted a new game to play, so I was looking through 2009 games on wikipedia. I should have known about this game a while back.

I think right now it's fine as it is. Maybe in a few more months when there is more info released about the game and such it may be a good idea to get some word out, but as it stands, I don't see the point especially when even us active in the MO community know so little about the game. It might not set well with the general gaming public at the moment.

You need to remember everyone, this game is still in early development. Not much info has been given, no real videos, no screens, just be patient. A huge community just doesn't happen overnight, you have to be patient. People will come when they begin to learn more and more about MO, and when MO begins to get closer to release.
For now, this community will grow. PEople came in for the big entrance, left due to the wait, and now it is beginning to slowly grow again. Patience, people, patience. Oh, and once DF doesn't release this place should become a little more crowded

I don't really think the floodgates should be opened yet. There really isn't enough information about the game to keep a lot of people interested. I'm sticking around because I think there is some potential here, but a lot of others may see the lack of info (one race, one teaser, some concept art, no screenshots, etc) and be put off. I say, enjoy the small community while we can and once more information about gameplay is released, try to get more people interested.

It will spread on it's on when the game is released and it is good. Everything before that point doesn't matter.
And of course as long as there isn't much infos, there will be only spamers, whiners and flamers posting in the forum if they all know about the game.

This game exists therefore should be put under developmental status on a video game database. |
