Default just a thought

ok, first I want to say that I tried searching the forums to find any posts relating to my ideas, and I don't seem to see any(doesn't mean they aint here, I just couldn't find them). SO I am going to enlighten everyone on my ideas. they are all grouped together, even though some may go in different areas.
first- I am thinking that if they have horse and dragon mounts, it will need you to have high skills in special areas, which means lots of time before you can obtain and use one. So, I am thinking of some sort of ride for people with specific skills that are too low for other mounts. I was considering a primitive hand glider or hot air balloon to assist you in long distance travel. of course, you would have to have some skills raised in order to use them,I would think.
second- I guess this is more of a question-idea. have they yet considered pack animals for merchants or if you decide to relocate to another area of the map. lets say you have gotten all you can off the land where you currently live. maybe the new items you plan on making require ingredients from areas a great distance away. it maybe of interest to relocate to that area to save travel time. would there be large animals to assist you in carrying your belongings, or a wagon to haul large things. That might be a worthwhile feature.
Its funny,I think of these things at work. I get home and suddenly I am "OMG!! what was it?" oh well, those are the 2 most important ones I had in mind

1) Dragon mounts are a no-no. Engineered transports wouldn't fit into the lore (as far as we know...). Nothing should "stop" you from riding a horse. How successful you are at it should be determined by a riding skill.

2)And pack animals is a good idea.

I agree with "pack animals is a good idea.", but there may be dragon mount since in the teaser trailer it showed that you can fight dragons what says you can not tame one. Maybe Dragons will never get tamed by a human race. But we still don't know all the races in the game what if there is a race that can get along with dragons?

Just a thought.

well if my memory serves me correct the dragon in the teaser was pretty epic in size. one of the biggest i have seen in an mmo.....well i believe EQ's dragons were pretty big...anyway. i feel the size of the dragons alone would not allow players to ride them, plus the strength dragons hold should not be exploitable by players.

about the riding skill. well we know for sure that we will be able to fight from a mount. we know a mount can and will die. so i'm certain there will be some kind of riding skill. it may just be combat skills and not everyday type skills like sprinting and jumping. but for sure there will be somekind of skills in relation to riding mounts.

Why would it take time to get a mount? Thats something you should have even before a weapon.
Noone would have to walk when they can ride.

well in a fantasy setting a mount is a sign of noblity/wealth/standing so not everyone should have a mount (of course that includes NPC don't want anyone thinking i mean not every player should have one). in games you have to work your way up to the wealth ect. sure i know some games you get mounts early but with mount combat, they should be uncommon and special.

Well, i think if there are mounts you would have to not make them cost a very large amount of monney. . . . because, if you got a whole bunch of rangers/archers you could shoot pretty much any dude off a horse. so they would probly make it harder to ride mounts, mabie have a chance to fall off when going a certain speed and faster(dependind on riding skill). I also like the pack animal idea,so some kind of strange animal or hireable npc person.

would be funny if they let you have a dragon while it was smaller. Raise it until it is big enough to mount. Let it actually age though over a month of so and grow some more. Once it gets to be about the size rhino, it has enough, turns on you. You really have 2 options here.
1. Beat into submission for another week
2. It owns your butt and is unleased on the world.

(Better hope you aren't near a town. I can't image the locals being to happy if they found out they now have to deal with a dragon who is growing and killing livestock because of you...lol)
