I was reading another thread and it reminded me of a different thread that I couldn't rememebr if I read or not... (can you imagine liveing inside my head)
Anyhow if this has already been mentioned than sorry. I know many games use the same look for spells... whether it be hand motions being the same or the same sparkle/glow sent flying toward your target. I think I know of a rather invintive way to make spell casting more unique. In a series by Piers Anthony called The Apprentice Adept, the spellcasters each had different methods of casting spells. There were several main spell casters each being recognized with a color, the main caricture being the Blue Adept. Anyhow some casters simply spoke words... others used hand motions... and others still created charms/amulates that they could invoke at will. Also each Adept had different forms of magic. Now I'm not saying this would be possible in the game but for example, the Black Adept had controll of cords/ropes/cables and her entire castle was made of them. She ilistrated full mental controll over them as extensions of her fingers/limbs. Anyhow different words, or motions(wiggle your nose?), or charms or other things would help to make the magic actualy feel like magic and less like a game. I suppose this could also open up new ways to increase your skills or to learn new spells by possibly comeing up with new hand motions(that you could save, or your caricture could 'remember' for faster use at a later time) A particular hand motion might need a certian atribute lvl or skill in order to have an effect so each time you increased something you might want to experiment all over agin. Seems like it is complicated but it could be that way or as simple as just giveing each spell a new way to be cast. Just my thoughts.

Yea... I read that already.. Im talking about how it looks in game or how your caricture casts it as opposed to how you cast it yourself.. But thanks

Yeah, I understood that, but shouldn't it fit in that other topic anyway? The name of this topic was a bit confusing with that other topic being so similar.
Personally, I don't care too much about how spells are cast. Sure, some decent animations would only be a plus, but it's not really what I'm looking for when playing a game. What I've always been fond of though, is magic- and summoning circles. By this, I mean a sort of pentagram or occult, circular sign appearing on the ground. Either around the caster, or around the targeted character or area. I think they look cool if they're done well.
