What I mean by this is not putting them in darts or swords or stuff like that but in food and drinks.Basically what I would like is for people to put poison in whatever that can be eating or drank without the other person knowing about it.
Theirs several ways that this will be used.Some will used it to steal stuff and others will use it to assassinate somebody they dont like or kill somebody with poison just for fun or all of the above hehehehe. The ideas are really endless.Imagine acting as a merchant or chef and giving somebody poisoned food only to have them paralyzed so you can kill him and/or steal his stuff.Or if your an assassin,infiltrating a guys bag on his horse or something and putting poison on his drinks/food. Now this is how I want the poisons to work So all poisons like in real life will pretty much screw you up.So for this you will obliviously need skill in poison making (or money to buy some good ones) but these poisons that could be put in drinks and foods are pretty much hardcore(depends on amount).So like in real life you will get paralyzed for some time or weaken alot.So is pretty much a guaranteed death for the guy or just getting robbed(some people wont want to be charged with murder Now poisoning somebody is going to be made hard.One way is that the poison your using will effect alot in whether the guy discovers it.So lets say I have very venomous poison but its a different color and requires me to put some what of resonable amount in it to knock out or weaken somebody severly,then the drink/food will look way different so the charector will see the difference and know something is up and not drink it/eat it.Now if the poison is of high quality then the targets chance of noticing it will be way too low since the high quality poison requires a little bit of amount to do its job that it will probably not make the drink/food look that different but they can still notice if examined carefully but it will be very hard...also depending on the eating/drink mechanics,if they can take sip of water or a bite of their food then they wont get hardcore poisoned so they will notice that something is wrong but the poison wont be enough to kill them. Also the other thing that is going to matter is the way u do it.So experience is going to be a must to be a good assassin if you are going to put it in somebodys drink...So if everybody notices you that you were around the place that you weren't suppose to be or something like that then they will suspect you of doing it..so basically like in real life,be unnoticed to be a good assassin. Also being smart is going to be essential so depending on your poison quality you might want to put just enough poison that the person will have trouble noticing,yeah the poison might not be as effective but some people in MO wont be easily fooled so any poison will help ...again experience will come to play on the right amount. Also the person your trying to poison will matter so if he's like a race or any other ability that somewhat resist poison then better poisons/more amount of the poison will be required to kill this person...again experience will tell you how much to use Now this ability will change the game.People will learn to shop with people they know or people with good reputation so honest store owners/merchants will benefit from this alot if some people of MO decide that posing as a merchant and killing/robbing people is fun.Also people who are targets will adjust by checking food etc. I know alot of what I said depends on the mechanics of the game.So if the game eating and drinking system is like WOW then my specific idea wont really work but overall I say put poisons that sort of are like the concept I posted but make it work to the games mechanics.My idea is mostly aimed if the mechanic is like actually getting the bottle/food in your hand and eating it/drinking it the amount you want(I hope thats how it is but without taking to long to eat/drink) Sorry for my grammar(I checked it so I hope I fixed most of it lol) and please improve this idea if you feel that theirs a problem. If this were in, then there would also need to be a viable way of detecting the poison. If someone gets poisoned from food, then it should slowly drain away their health but they could just drink some kind of potion to cure it. Doing this for assassination purposes wouldn't really be useful in the long run sinc they're just going to respawn right away. If there was no teleportation (Hopefully) it might have a better use since they would have to walk back to where they were before, unless they are close to their bind point. Most likely, this would only be used for greifing because it would server no other purpose than that. Assassination just doesn't work in a game where you would just respawn.

I guess stealing is whats this is going to get used for more. It will work great if theirs permadeath servers. |

without some sort of "hunger meter" or need to eat, all this would do is to make consuming "food buffs" into a risky business, meaning people will be less likely to eat, buy or cook/grow food, and thus making it a less immersive world.
so if there's hunger & starvation, I'd say this might be an interesting feature, but i doubt it.

Pretty much what Traceur said. If the Devs were to implement this, they'd have to add in a need for food/drink and would it be possible to even code food/drink to change colour everytime a poison is added without lagging anyone?
