Designable armour/weapons

I apologise if this question has been asked/answered so far but, I wonder will armour and or weapons be designable, with that I mean for example I would be a crafter and I would craft a very cool(strong) armour will it be possible that I would shape the form of it maybe, just a breastplate, with some spikes or perhaps a full uper torso plate with arm pad protection etc...
I hope I made my question clear I'm having dificulties saying what I mean lately in english ;o

it would be nice if when an item drops, you could materialize it into one of various designs presented to you varying in shape color etc.
and if we could get a custom crafter where we get tools to shape out our own weapons armor... o jesus that would be godly

i'm afraid it's very unlikely that you'll be able to create armor/weapons by shaping it how you like. rather, "recipes" for new items will be discovered from studying the items themselves. so say you find some really rare sword, you can study it and learn how to make it, thus getting a "recipe" of sorts for that item, and i would assume this means you won't be able to create your own items.

would be cool though. say you could decide how long or big to make your sword. the longer it was, the more reach it had, but it would also have a slower swing speed. or the bigger it was, the more powerful it was, but it again would have a slower attack speed.

same thing with armor, it would be cool to be able to decide what material to make it out of as well as how thick it is. so if it's really thick, you get more AR, but you will move slower and you'll be heavier, meaning you won't be able to carry as much in your backpack.
