Will there be any changes in your character's appearance as they advance? Like if they get hit too much, scars start to show up on arms, face, etc. Or hair gets longer?
Or if the character is heavy into magic will their eyes start to glow, smoke, etc.? |

What they could do is make the all reset every time u die so unless u are very good u will not get 2 many scars. IT would allso make other plays know how good u are when they c u if u are coved in scars |

Is your goal to face a legendary monster? Well, that is usually suicide – if you can find one. But if your guild would actually manage to kill one, it’s dead. Gone. Rare monsters and quests do not resurrect or come again, whether it’s an ancient beast, a crumbling temple, an island rising out of the sea or a great ritual that fails or succeeds.
You might get away with an item never seen before, or the unique scar that tells about the experience. There are not many of these opportunities but they are usually important enough to affect the whole world and its history. All you have to do is be at the right place at the right time. |

I guess if a character like concentrate on a specific kind of magic they change like if the character keep freezing people his body will start freezing up and he start geting paler (think sub-zero) or if he use death magic he start roting and decaying and part of his bones are showing

Just wanted to say that this idea would have my full support. I'm not sure how possible it is, but it would certainly be great if they could do it.
As for someone saying that the scars should disappear after resurrection... Well, I kinda got the impression that it's the same body you get resurrected to, I'd rather see everything stay as it was before death (except for the looted items...) On that note... It'd be cool if you could lose a limb or something, and then you would have to make yourself a magical arm or something...

I'm against character ageing, but character alteration based on your experiences sounds good. Scars, magic effects, etc, will all add to how your character is an individual. I hate bumping into exact replicas of my character around towns.

or they could make it where you level as a child to an adult and own as an adult...and just hit stuff with your fists or feet as a child, LOL. I would like to see aging take place in a game, though. To some effect, it would be a neat thing to see. |

I've always been against character aging (and the other thought of it leading to character death via aging).
The main reason being I'm a cosmetic person when it comes to my avatar(s). I spend a lot of time at character creation when games allow and I'm very into creating certain looks. When I do, I don't want some uncontrollable factor changing what my character looks like. I want my character to look how she (since I do girls mainly) when I create her because that's why I created her that way. I also don't generally like scarring or or permanent appearance altering effects on my character for the same reason mentioned above. Now I have no problem with scars and battle damage as long as there is a way to cure them - so my toon can look dazzling again! I also highly crave advanced character creation systems that allow morphing rather than cookie-cutter templates and I believe it's time MMOs start moving forward in that category - especially one like this which will be in first person. That NCSoft (yeah ... ehh) game Aion actually has a pretty fun create a character system. Hopefully MO has something similar to Oblivion, just which much better character models. Everyone in Oblivion looked awful without mods. |

That would be good, but it needs to decay over time, so say your bare chested and get slashed with a sword, the scar should stay for a day or 2 and then vanish, otherwise you'll end up like a patchwork quilt.

If this is going to be a large mmorpg then you would have so many scars there would be no fun in it.
Maybe earn your scars, buy them, select them, and like the teaser said from certain quests. I think a big guy with a gash in his stomach would be pretty cool but i dont want to get to the point where scars over lap from dying so much... Armor durability would be neat to show maybe? the less durability it has the more patches or less of it is there? so you actually pay for new stuff added to it instead of just paying for a number to go back up |

I do think that character appearance shouldn't be static. Aging and scarring would be really cool, but if they were to implement that they should also put in a fountain or elixers of youth or something along those lines. Just in case you don't want your character looking like a geezer... And I like the idea of your appearance changing according to what you do, i.e. warriors and blacksmiths get big beefy arms, mages get glowing eyes or the like.
