Yeah AoC was a huge let down. I completely agree with Torgrim, it's nothing close to what they initially promised.

I played in the AoC beta just before their launch and on that I based my decision whether or not to purchase the retail game.
I did not. Mostly due to the game being a bug fest just a week before the game was supposed to be finished. Funcom = Failcom |

Heya Blood
Fancy seeing you here Yes I was in the same AoC guild as blood and now all the members have left AoC because the support staff have a habbit of banning people for just asking for help, our old website www.conanftw.com, is now the testing ground for www.mortalwiki.com - I gotta say I'm really excited about an MMORPG built on the unreal engine |

If funcom delete all bug in AOC, and give a Hight End content with PvP level, AOC can be good... but yes BUT AOC isn't a MMORPG for me:
-All part of this world is divided in too many instance with small MAP, -crafting is just boring, -and there is no community. -MAP in AOC with too small, you cannot explorate nothing in AOC you cannot lose your way or something like this. AOC it's juste an OPG online playing game nothing more. |

The AoC dev's where very cocky, arrogant and rude on their beta forums. The dev's refused to acknowledge the beta testers feedback about the all negative things you see in the game today. It's those negative things why players are quiting in mass numbers. FunCom bought all this failure upon themselves and I personally will never play another game that's developed by FunCom... that's if they make it out of this huge hole they dug themselves.

Terrible Game, Terrible.....
It is not an MMORPG, instanced maps? In no WAY is that game an MMORPG. It's just as much as an MMORPG as Diablo is an MMORPG: 1. Meet people in chatroom 2. select level 3. Start game

Judging from the videos that pops up now on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuJrEcob0Rs&NR=1 |

On release i got to level 50 in 6-7 days i soon took a breath, steped back and actually realised how bad the game was. Then after trying to find new things to do apart from leveling it lasted about 2 more days before i unsubscribed and uninstalled.
More like Age Of Crap...Bahahahaha |

Playing AoC from lv 1 to lv 60 is a solo pve high experience. Then start the problems.... when you match the lv 80 and do all the Scorpion Cave - Caravan - Atzel's Fortress - Onyx.... Then what remain to do? Epic-impossible or useless istance? I left AoC and now im waiting for some offline rpg, meanwhile i hope someone do a MMORPG with big balls of steel.....

i just watched a long video with all kinds of new content, im excited about it to be honest but the only problem is they haven't given word on when to expect it all. I have confidence that in time AoC will shape up into something great.

The future for AoC might just have become a little brighter now...

Strange, AoC and Gaute were like ketchup and mustard....they just felt right together, Gaute didn't only cause the bad, he was part of the good too. Well maybe this new guy will take AoC to the next level and turn it into a real MMO, he sounds promising...we'll see.....

resurrecting AoC after leaving a bad taste in many people's mouths is not a job I'd want to take.
he has a helluva project to clean up and he should start with stopping the silent nerfs. that gives the distinct impression you are paying for beta. |

There is no argue that AoC had a rough start, that's a fact. But I do believe it can become a really damn good game after awhile. Things are much better now than before. Lot's of changes and content has been added and more to come, memory leaks is in the past (fixed) and a new dev that seems promising and listen to the community. I'm not a aoc fanboi, in fact I have recently canceled my sub, reason for that is to try WAR and if it's not for me I'll go back to AoC. But I don't really think it's fair to say AoC sucks anymore, it's certainly not a beta anymore and at least it seems to get better and walk toward the right direction.
And also I can't help to feel a bit amussed when people complain about lack of content. Sure quests are low in the higher lvls (tho many more have been added and new regions to come to fill the gaps) but end game certainly is there, in fact there is pretty damn much end game in AoC compared to what most mmos have short after release. AoC have sieges (battlekeeps etc) and lot's of lvl 80 group dungeons and at least 5 raid dungeons and more to be added soon. I mean most new mmos don't even have that much at release. I believe that people that complains are simply either too low lvl to take part of it or are members of a too small/inactive guild to experience it all.

I have no idea why you guys hate AoC so much.. It takes alot of work to create a game like that and it isn't even as bad as you guys exaggerate it to be.. it was a let down i agree but i did what most of you guys didnt do..
i stopped my subscription until recent patches.. Now there is pvp system and there is gonna be fugitive along with dx10.. The game is great just dont diss it too much.. |

For me AOC just proved why I hate the ancient level-based mechanics and would like a sandbox game instead. I just hated the idea of leveling/grinding/questing whenever I thought "Hey, I should play AoC today". So basic game mechanics, not inherent to AoC only, were the reasons I quit. Hyboria would've made a great environment for a sandbox game, though. What a shame...

Yeah I agree, but too bad there aren't many sandboxes yet. AoC in my oppinion is the best theme park mmo atm and it's really just a time killer for me until MO comes
