Default Economics - not sure if this has been asked already.

I havent found a thread containing the currency used in the game, however im sure its not important what you call it as long as it exists :P

My questions toward economics...

Real Money Traders (RMT) Im sure everyone whom has played any MMO is aware of them. How are the devs going to handle the situation upon discovery of RMT? Will the devs ban BOTH buyers and sellers or just focus more on the sellers? In my experience, Ive mainly only played Final Fantasy 11 and found that RMT were a huge problem with jacking prices, on the other hand buyers keep them in business basically ruining the fun of crafting or trying to buy materials ect... Im also not sure how the devs plan to allocate the buy / sell / trade industry either. But I think that some sort of auction house would be nice, and if implemented would prices on items be player controlled or AI controlled?

Although being stanky rich is nice, will there be a cap on the amount your allowed to carry?

This is all I can think of at the moment on this topic, but im sure a few replies will stir my think tank

i can't give you any info on how the devs plan to deal with RMTs. i'm a little curious myself, actually.

as far as the buying/selling/trading goes, most of the community has indicated that they would rather NOT have a global chat (http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/1...at-yes-no.html) so i assume that would mean no "trade channel."

i would personally prefer player owned shops over an auction house that players could staff with npc vendors. if you're interested in seeing my opinion on this, you can read it here: http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/2...html#post43498. i just typed it and i'd rather not type it again, especially if you don't really care to hear it.

since this is a sandbox MMO aiming at a player driven economy, i would guess prices would be set by the players on auction houses or player owned vendors.

as far as a limit on the cash you can carry, since this is a full-loot game (or at least nearly full-loot), my guess is there will be a bag and weight system more similar to UO than the slot based system a la WoW. basically, you probably can carry X amount of weight, so you won't e carrying ALL of your money with you at all times like you would in WoW (you wouldn't want to be looted with all that money on you anyways).

pretty much everything i said was mostly speculation (although based on logical assumptions). i hope this at least somewhat answers your questions.
