I'm going to make some fan banners. Who's with me? Do they exist yet?

If you want to help me, please suggest short phrases that'll gain peoples' interest.

It appears using game logos may be against the rules, so I'm going to stop posting banners until I get a confirmation.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but it looks like you just took the current banner and shoved some text beside it. As far as I know, that qualifies as a fairly heavy kind of copyright infringement, seeing as you're using other peoples work and claiming it as your own.

The fact that the text kind of ruins it is more of an observation and opinion than anything else. I say let the actual designers do their job and let them make the banners.

They're just for sigs, but, alright. <3

It seems you're oblivious to the fact that I previously noticed that Mortal Online may disapprove of this (despite the number of fansites up) and I'm currently waiting to see if I'll be allowed to continue. Many mmo's allow their fans to make sigs with their logos, but I don't know about Mortal Online yet and I've messaged a mod to see.

I'm not oblivious, I'm just stating that it technically is illegal. I doubt the MO guys here will care, or pursue it any further than asking you to take it down if they do, but it can be followed up with legal repercussions.

Also, I was saying that little opinion of mine because it really doesn't look like you did much other than add a spiffy font. Why not try something with the concept art or something, rather than a copypasta of the banner?

I have banners like that saved on my computer right now including animated ones. The ones I posted first were a logical first..

I don't recall lecturing you on anything, merely stating a point. I don't quite get the emphasis on the bolded words. If you were trying to make a point, then it was lost on me. 1. The emphasis is me pointing out the hypocrisy of someone complaining that I'm breaking the law then suggesting that I "try something with the concept art or something".

2. All I wanted to do was create some fan banners for a sig to use on other sites 'cause I'm really excited about this game and wanted to get people aware of it. I found out it may be against the rules so I ceased and messaged a mod to see if I could continue.

3. You're free to criticize my banners all you want. And no, it really doesn't bother me hence, "They're just for sigs, but, alright. <3" Also, I'm not an "artist", I just like showing some enthusiasm.

This will be my last reply to you, as to hopefully stop this completely unnecessary and immature conversation.

There's two parts here, one is that I actually said that Devs for MO don't seem like the type to care, however I did contradict it quite a bit so I can see why that would have been lost in the other statements. Two being that if you change someone elses work beyond immediate recognition, I believe it doesn't fall under the same type of copyright infringement.

When did I ever tell you to stop? If you post something on a public forum like this, it's usually assumed that you want some criticism on your work. The fact that you were curious about copyrights is what I answered to, then gave you my opinion, which I was perfectly in my bounds to do.

Leaving the copyright issue aside, I don't see much work put into those banners, sigs or whatever. Font with gradient is something everyone can do these days, if you aim a bit higher try doing something more unique.

Why do I only ever see you bitch about other people's actions? Kroq did nothing but point out the (low) quality/effort of the banner and its questionable legality. If that ruins a thread then jesus I don't want to know what keeps them good.

I really doubt that SV will get angry about somebody using their logo to play around with, it's not doing any harm...
Anyways, just something I was doing when I was bored... lol...

Been doing CS2 for awhile but I haven't done much of anything in ImageReady, and this is only the second thing I've animated...

Usually when giving a sample, you give something that actually intrigues people and gets them wanting more, rather than the worst one in your folder. Going by that logic, I was perfectly right in my assumption that the rest of his folder would be pretty terrible. I mean, it may not be, but I wasn't talking about those, I was referring specifically to what he had posted up so far.

First impressions are a big deal.

hmm,I am thinking here. MO sigs sounds awesome. Personally, I would love to have one. A quite simple resolution to the copyright infringement, would be to contact a forums moderator, and have him get you the approval or non-approval. If ya get it cleared up,, contact me...I would love to have ANY kind of a MO sig
