Well if we're on the topic of mothers now, people take offense because that's their origin, it's where they are from it's "who they are" so if you mock that then you "mock them."

Now back to religion, some people beleive that they are creations of their god(s) so therefore apart of them. If you don't understand that, then I just don't know what to do with you.

Like I said, I'm not a religious person, so if that is your belief, then you gotta throw me a bone here. I can't know this by default. But if your belief is, that you're a part of another entity, then I'd guess it is directed at you. But before that little piece of information was shared...I believe I still posed a fair question. (To which I'd still like an answer

)

Still, there's the Report button, which could be used by those of that belief.

Even if you are not religious it's common knowledge that religious people beleive that they come from a greater entity, in other words their god. Besides didn't I just answer your question?

There's a difference between believing, that you're part of another entity, and believing that there is a deity/A deity from which you're a decendant (In relation to the question). I've been referring to the latter all along, seeing as that was what I thought it was all about (From what I was taught back in my school years). Now we're getting some more colours on the palette to play with. And no, that question has yet to be answered. Even if someone goes after my origin, or my family (That's basicaly the same thing), why would I take offense? It's still not directed at me.

i don't see why the religious folk here got offended... i mean the thread is also going after my worldview (green i suppose) and i really don't mind defending my position, as i did a couple of posts back. so what if the OP and question is extremely one sided and provocative? let's make the most of it and bring an interesting discussion out of it.

Religion is the biggest scam. But it does bring balance to some peoples lives, but does that make up for all the war it has caused?

Global warming - its happening, although it happens naturally I think we are contributing to it.

Global warming obviously, religion is not a scam. Although not religious myself I certainly respect a good christian over a whiny atheist.
