I was thinking and in most MMORPG's characters always die the same way and i was thinking if adding ragdoll deaths would be a good idea (to increase realism)
What do you think? Last edited by CallMeZionn : 23rd August 2008 at 20:44. |

I like ragdoll and I would welcome it if it were implemented in Mortal Online.
It gives a realistic touch to the dying animations and dont make them look lousy like in games without ragdoll. |

yeah ragdolls death is nice ...
But if the physics is good but other things arent, I dont like it much. Like receiving the last slash from a sword, being push backside in ur death, but ur body stays intact... no sword slashes or blood. Even if they werent "ragdolled", was enjoying finishing moves (fatalities) from AoC. A mix from the 2 maybe ? |

I'm pretty sure It'll be done. But why don't we push our expectations alittle bit further and ask for the euphoria engine to be implemented, haha. http://naturalmotion.com

Ragdoll will be good, however, I think it will only make the game feel good if all the animations are sleek and smooth. And, for crying out loud, I would like to see actual collision on the battlefield, as opposed to this whole I swing my sword in your general direction and it hurts you junk. I know it would be difficult, if not impossible, but I would love for projectiles, melee weapons and magic projectiles to have physics applied to them as well.

A sword can blocked by another sword with a swing or something like that, a arrow can be deflected by a shield?

The ragdolls introduces physics that will cause lag because of the information of the dead must include like direction, strenght etc... not only the flag of a-plaer-has-death, wich is simple served.
I like ragdolls too, but its complicated in a MMORPG(i think). |

Ok, thank you for the explanation.
If that is like you have said, the game must include the ragdoll, the UE3 is a great engine, and that effect will be in keeping with the whole grafics world. Regards |
