Interesting read that my boss sent me. If you live in the United States and reside in California, you should read this:

That pretty much is what it boils down to. I am no where near the income bracket specified in this proposal, but the people that make this amount of money yearly, well, spend it... which is good for the economy. Less spending by the wealthy impedes commerce and would lead to mass exodus to neighboring states before they get taxed out their asses, which would be great for other states.
Like I said, I don't make nearly enough money to qualify for any of this, and I think to myself, "They're all frikken filthy rich, let them pay off the state deficit." But in the end I only see more bad things happening than good. |

There's a difference between someone who is rich because people in their family before them were rich, and people who are rich because they worked for it.
Without massive taxes on people who manage to spend their millions in a year, what's to stop them from inflating the currency where Joe-Public can't afford simple livings because some jackass spends a hundred million on a golden dolphin cyborg (multiplied by the amount of money wasting people) and drove the economy into shit? How do middle class people manage to have a good life while not spending millions? It's called self control, and because some people are just that goddamn rich they have no reason to regulate their spending. Taxes should do that, and keep the rich from getting richer because they're rich. |

As a person who lives in Nevada, I absolutely hope this does not happen. We have enough Californians coming over here and giving us all their problems. Not only did they jack up real estate prices RIGHT before the bubble burst (causing some houses to half in value, and still falling), but now we're becoming over populated and running out of water.
Don't even get me started on the hippy-smell.

Wooowwww. I'm sure glad I'm not rich, for once. I live in Anaheim. I can tell that Cali is going to go down the shitter soon. If I was rich I'd be moving out like NOW. I'd move to Oregon or Washington though.
