My guild has recently purchased a new ventrilo server, and we are keeping it open to anyone who wants to come in and chat, in game or not. It is a 50 slot, so we have no worries about how many people join. If you're just lookin for some people to join up with in game, need some help with whatever, or just want to talk to some other MO beta players, this is the place to go.

Update: The NDA has been lifted! The server is now open to everyone in the MO community. We have a strong base of beta players, so if you have questions, concerns, comments, or just want to talk about MO, this is the place to go. Hope to see many new members of the MO community joining us!

Open Beta Update

The Mortal Online channels are open for anyone to use without registration, and without user caps! This is to promote people to play together and be able to get reliable and high quality voice communication while playing/testing Mortal Online.

The Public channels will still have the same limitations, so please join the channel and sub-channels under "Mortal Online Open Beta" to have more than 8 people in a channel.

The channel will be moderated, so anyone using it for something other than MO will be cleared out to keep things clear for those wanting to play MO.

And idk. probably like third. The last was hosted by someone whos not a member any mo so whatever. We just needed a new server, and decided its best to keep it public, and why not tell people about it :P

You're welcome in there, of couse. If you get banned let me know and I'll unban you so you can continue to harass everyone

I banned you the first time, no clue who did it after that as we were using a 3rd party's vent (not the official Myrmidon one)

Due to Mr. Winter telling me that we can't advertise the vent in the beta forum or on my signature because its "public", we have put a password on the MO Beta channel. Hope he agrees that is ok, since I know a few people advertising their vent info in their sigs that are posting in this beta forum.

Your Correct, although the vent.myrmidonguild.com has always been just a rerout to whatever I was hosting. So realistically there has only been 3 but with rerouts being changed yes 6 have been around. The first one needed to be updated cause it had only 30 slots. The second one sucked and i've been at the third one ever since.

I myself never advertised vent.myrmidonguild.com as the access to the Public Ventrilo Channel. As well as I believe Neoxx, Javelin and a few others that advertised bismuth.maxfrag.net access.

The Mortal Community Vent was never a ventrilo for Myrmidon--they were all just in there so it made sense for them to rerout to it. I was never a fan of that but in the end...they all went to the same place so it didn't really matter one way or another just so long as people realize that it was not Myrmidons Ventrilo Channel.

Thats the progression of all the servers Me and the guys at Myrmidon have gone through. The vent.myrmidonguild.com was always just a rerout to my ventrilo server.

Bismuth.maxfrag.net 4585 will be around at least until November yet though so you can use either one that you wish. As far as being banned I have never banned anyone for being obnoxious or acting in a manner that I dont care to hear--thus why my ventrilo has always had separate rooms for people that just are there to play a game--and i've created private rooms for people that wish that as well.

I have always told my Admins to respect other people and the way they have fun because everyone is different. Unfortunately there was a few instances where one person let their anger be an admin rather than what my rules are. That has since been remedied and all bans by that individual were reviewed and many of them were actually reversed and i've talked to about 4 of you already and.

Anyway Best of Luck to all the Public Ventrilo channels and hope you have a great time in ANY vent channel that you choose to hang out in!

(Angry, I never saw you on the ban list so I dont know whats going on there.)

Good news, we got a few donations from our guild members and we have 5 months paid for (so until around the end of February)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Adam. Yeah, since I was rarely around in the weeks prior to this, all the semantics with guild tagging the vent I wasnt much a part of. Since you were a part of the guild at that time it was kinda assumed we could use it for guild use, as well as being a community resource. Any confusion with that is past now anywho.

We've already got like 5 months ready for this one, and it seems like a good host as well.

Well, at least you had more activity in the vent when we were in there, so thats always a plus. lol,

I've said it publicly about 4 times now. I have nothing against Myrmidon but one person for freaking out and causing problems. I hope you all do well with your ventrilo server. The only reason why I allowed that to happen like I said was because you all were in the Public Ventrilo all the time so it made sense for you. I let you do what you want with that, I never OK'd it, I was never asked. I didn't really care, but when the reputation started go negative based on the vent.myrmidonguild.com tag linking to it and myrmidon having a negative reputation based on, again, that same person. I opted put an end to it because it was never meant to be that in the first place.

In the end that person made it very easy because they had their admin rights taken away and opted to discontinue the vent.myrmidonguild.com rerout anyway. Problem solved.

BTW I think Javelin, You and I are gonna have a sit down sometime here and he wanted to go over some crap about all this. Im open to whenever. Drop me a PM about it if you get a chance.

You see, they dont cause problems. They interact with Mortal Players And they come to the Vent and Hear about Mortal Online. I don't see a problem with that.

I see no problem with WOW players coming to a place where they will hear about Mortal Online. I've gotten at least 6 of them to check out Mortal Online by just name dropping.

You gotta remember my ventrilo is a public service to Mortal Online not a public service with private interests.

I think they are pretty good. They are backed by multiple websites, meaning they wont just get up and walk away. They own gameservers.com and gametracker.com, so they seem to be pretty reputable.

Well, due to recent contact, this server will be available for access by beta members only. Not that there were ever many (if any) non beta people on there, I just thought I'd let everyone know. Even though the info can only be accessed through the beta forums, we're still keeping a password protected room in there for beta members, just in case people slip through the cracks. Thanks!

Neat, sounds like a plan then. But yea, most of the people that actually come in are playing beta anyway, so we all move them to the private channel (beta chat only)

Im sure not, they probably do the same thing as I do and give you a private channel with your other foreign speaking friends. Not that we dont like hearing german but it just causes confusion. This is an international game on one server if people can't handle foreign speaking people they are going to be alienated in a hurry. That why I have my doubts.

They protect themselves by doing that. When the NDA is liften ten the password will go away. This way they can advertise in here as well instead of the community section. Much larger population in here. Makes sense to me I guess.

Yeah, all english so far, but anyones welcome. Maybe you'll find someone else that would rather speak german or something and you can chat. We have many rooms to use, and can create more as needed.

As for the password protected room, I guess we could post the password on here and also post a similar thread in the community section, but since we're a beta group we have been told that since they cant monitor what goes on, and who gets in what rooms for what purposes, that we shouldnt post on other sections of the forum. I will add the password to the main post so only people surely in beta will know it, and I will direct all requests for the PW to that link for verification that they are in Beta.

Hey Adam the free service you provided for a lot of the Myrmidon members and whoever else was much appreciated. I honestly didn't even know it was just a public vent, :P. Although we definitely had alot of different types of people in there.
