Aegis Imperium is a Mortal Online only guild which was created from its forum community in June 2008. Since then the guild has gone public in August 2008 and continued to flourish and grow, participating heavily in the decoding of the "MO Counter" and, as a result, the reveal of the name of the MO World. The Imperium is focused on creating a solid and tightly knit member base. Instead of creating a single way of thinking the Imperium encourages each person to retain the things that make them unique. Currently the Imperium does not belong to any geographic region, and is split 50/50 between North America and Europe. The Imperium subscribes to the school of thought that all actions benefit the guild, and as such all members are expected to contribute to the guild.


Mission of the Imperium

The Imperium seeks to solidify itself as an Empire within the world of MO, and be at the forefront of all actions, political and historical, on the server we choose to reside on. The secondary objective is to provide a stable environment for players choosing to take up residence within our territory. Since such actions require every single play style that exists, every single player no matter their background, or tendencies can forge out a part within the Imperium.

Membership

Guild members are selected through a private invitation and applications. New members are discussed and voted in; any member of the guild is able to create recruitment polls, we also have a "Sponsorship Program" allowing friends and family to be quickly invited without hassle. Once a member is voted in they have all the rights within the guild, from this point on they can build a reputation within the guild through which ever means they wish. Applications are here.

We usualy recruit directly from the MO community, and even at that only active members who have demonstrated their charachter. At this point in time, we are building as much of a community as a guild, so it is important that all recruits have a good attitude, and demonstrated that they can support a discusion or a debate on a mature level. As such; age doesn't really factor in, only how you present yourself; so if you are a 16 year old but you show a great level of maturity, we will usualy welcome you.

On the same side, we like to get to know our recruits before accepting them, and the best way to do that, is just to join the MO IRC channel; there are at minimum 4 AI members on at any time; thought they may be AFK.

I've got a small question about name of your guild.
Why is it "Aegis Imperium" instead of "Aegis Empire" ?
I'm just curious from what language other than polish comes the word "Imperium" ?
Is this whole name in latin ?

As for why we are called Imperium instead of Empire, I guess that's a question for the guild founders.

BTW impeerium (with 2 e's) means empire in Estonian .

Imperium in a broad sense translates as ancient Rome the concept applied to people, and meant something like "power status" or authority, or could be used with a geographical connotation and meant something like territory. It is not to be mistaken with auctoritas "authority").

In ancient Rome, imperium could be used as a term indicating a characteristic of people, the measure of formal power they had. This qualification could be used in a rather loose context (for example, poets used it, not necessarily writing about state officials). However, in Roman society it was also a more formal concept of legal authority. A man with imperium had in principle absolute authority to apply the law within the scope of his magistracy or promagistracy

So you can interpret the name "Aegis Imperium" as "Wise Protection through Power"

Ahhh Murder Herd. I've had some squabbles with your kind on Age of Conan before you guys decided to leave. Those were great times! I was in Death and Debauchery by the way, we staged a few rp pvp battles against the herd at one stage or another.

anyone can join the forums and you'll have access to the public section. you just won't have access to the guild-member only areas where we're plotting the destruction of scions and murder herd.

The definition of Scion means; a descendant, heir or next in line. We're descendants of great warriors, sorcerers and crafters who are next in line to forge our own destiny's and write our names into the pages of history. We don't comprehend what a Toyota is or a car is for that matter. Are they rare monsters in the world of Mortal where we all live and dwell in?

But Scions were created in a desparate attempt to make them look cool, and are put together cheaply to make them more affordable to young people and minorities.

Really I'd be more worried about having to tow you out of our territory. We'd kill ya, but we'd probably be laughing too hard.
