![]() "Fedayeen are a group of people known to be volunteers, not connected to an organized government or military. They are usually deployed for a cause where the government has been viewed as failure or non-existent. They are associated with the role of resistance against occupation or tyranny. The name "fedayeen" is used to refer to armed struggle against any form of enslavement basing their actions on resistance." Fedayeen (Arabic: فدائيون, fidā'ī, plural fidā'īyun: meaning, "freedom fighter(s)" or "self-sacrificer(s)"Armenian: Ֆէտայի) is a term used to describe several distinct, primarily Arab militant groups and individuals at different times in history. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Order of Fedayeen Welcome. Exiles from other realms, vigilantes, outcasts, criminals and hitmen, all are welcome to start a new life with us. The life of the lawless good, where it is not believed that freedom and peace can exist within the false embrace of our authorities. These two important elements can however be achieved over time by properly using skill and weapons to suppress or permanently silence the deceptive rulers of our lands. It is the goal of the Order to perform this sacrifical task and get rid of the pest. We are a scholarly institution at heart, dedicating ourselves to teach the arts of the Hashshashin, and learn from others the modern tricks of today. The world is ever-changing, adaptation is key, therefore we live by the principle of encouraging our scholars to teach others as much as is taught to them. Every man has to be as effective as the other, we can not afford to get slowed down by ignorance or lack of combat prowess. The Order is official, we have no problem with society recognizing our presence, only when at work do we conceal ourselves and through whatever means necessary avoid, deceive or disable threats to our secrecy. Our goals and lectures will be emphasized upon the public, to instill fear and seek out like-minded individuals who could prove to be an asset for the Order. One, more discreet, aspect of the Order will however be frowned upon. Due to the lack of sponsors and the unfortunate cost of vital merchandise such as food and clothing, we are forced to accept contracts for assassinations and thievery. What the target is or what he has done will be of no interest to us, our full attention will be granted for every contract. Should a steady supplier of items arise, the need for this despicable business will diminish. We are only doing this because we are forced to, coins do not grow on trees and it simultaneously serves as practice for our scholars. If another guild wishes to co-operate with us on this, I am sure we could make a fair arrangement. The students are ensured to fully dedicate themselves to their studies, be they with book or blade in hand, traitors and defectants of high rank will be generously repaid for the time we have wasted training future-less infidels. (note: the guild's setting is RP, but we will not, or at least, will not enforce RP in-game, however we will still do stuff like assassinations and contracts, we will also stay to our teach and learn mentality. We will create the guild on a PvP server.) If this sounds interesting to you, you can read more here: http://www.conanguild.info/drivenbyr...ic.php?id=1074 The link to our forum is www.conanguild.info/drivenbyrage/ We are planning to have a website around the launch of Mortal Online, for now we will use the forum. |

Fedayeen? Seriously?
Is this clan being watched by the FBI/CIA or was it created by them? At least one of those probably happened. The usage of such a politically charged word, even in a video game... In case noone else has been informed, Fedayeen is the name commonly given to Anti-Israeli Palestinian groups. At this point in time, it's seen as a terrorist organization by the United States and Israel. And given the United States' penchant for spying and surveillance on even the most loosely affiliated "terrorist" groups (even those that sympathize with hamas or "terrorist groups)... well it's safe to say that this is going to be monitored or investigated. I'm just saying... it might be cool to change your name to something less... well less likely to be watched by intelligence agencies by mistake. Good luck with your guild. |

Unfortunately, the term is rather politically charged at the moment. You could always change it to Fedaykin, a modified word based on Fedayeen, which was the term used by Frank Herbert in the Dune series, and designated a similar elite military unit. There is quite a bit of modified Arabic in the series, actually.
The Persian Immortals were pretty cool as well. |
