Straight from Henrik (roughly at 4:00). I do like the sound of Embassies rather than classes, that's for sure. Who else likes the sound of it? |

I think I might hafta watch it again to make sure now, heh...
---Edit--- After review, it's hard to tell. I heard NPC the first time around, now that embassy has been brought up I hear that as well. >.< Either way it comes to the same thing, you go somewhere to pick up a title for some specialized training. he says "you could get a class bonus from an npc." if you know anything about darkfall, it sounds like "prestige classes" where you sort of choose a "class" and you get bonus skills related to that type of class. for instance, you talk to a paladin npc, and you get a slight skill up in healing, blocking, and swordsmanship or something. there would have to be some drawbacks to this however. i'm just guessing here ofc.. but that's how i interpreted it.
even if he did say "embassy" the context wouldn't make it a synonym for classes. henrik, if you see this could you clear it up a little?

I also think he was saying NPCs.
Kinda funny though. It does make sense sort of. Maybe in order to clarify the difference between player-run guilds and NPC guilds, one could continue to be called guilds, and the other something else, like House, Clan, Tribe, Outfit, etc. And then maybe the office of the local NPC guild could be called an Embassy |

Well from what I get from it, sounds like they are going back to old school MUD setup, you start off with your stats and skills, you can work on them however you want, and IF you want to you can join a Guild( Player run Class Guilds ) which require specific skills you have, and you'll get the class title and a class bonus for being part of it, but it also restricts your other skills, or you could just not have a "class" and be able to progress in all the skills without any bonuses
