Okay no freakin glowy weapons...
BUT, runes, gems on the pommel, should be used. I think the best case would be for a magic-based class. A mage class can cast temporary enchants on his weapon to add a little more damage to his melee so hes more balanced against another close range melee player. These would be represented by runes. Infused with cold, an enchant could slowly sap an opponent's stamina and slow him down at a very gradual rate. then there could also be the blacksmith added gems, which could add permanent properties to whatever piece he is crafting. He would first need to find raw gems, refine them, have a mage or w.e infuse magic into it, and then learn how to correctly add the gem to his armor/weapon. |

The only thing glowing is a flame tongue if it even exist in the game, since fire obviously creates light O.o. If you tell me fire doesn't I want you tell me how?
The other thing glowing is togo's head.... However it would be kind of interesting to see a sword lodged on a dragon, to wonder why it would be there :P. (A previous raid attempt that failed, but a single weapon proved capable of injuring the dragon in a position he can't reach. Poor dragon Edit: I don't think magical items glow >.>. It is a deep misconception, but then again nothing ever said they can't. It'll just be, in gameplay's perspective, unwise to wield a glowing weapon Definitely love the glowing runes idea.

I think runes would be fantastic, but what about those people who don't want to glow because they hide in the shadows?
I was thinking maybe adding some sort of black haze effect to certain weapons for people who don't want light reflecting off their blade, or maybe even help hide in the shadows overall.

Agree with most of the posts on this server.
But glowing weapons or an enchant style graphics are good to unique your weapons, but they shouldn't be like really prominent. More like a subtle glow, like WoW's crusader enchant for example, that's subtle, but enough to make it stand out then the average weapon. |
