If the game is in alpha stages and is going to be nearing beta in the winter, maybe the developers have some idea of what the hardware requirements are going to be for the game.
This will help us better prepare for beta and for the release itself

Yeah, even if the Devs cant tell us what it'll be for the mini reqs, can you guys tell us what some of the specs your running it on so we may have a little comparison?

For starters the min reqs for Multiplayer games are higher then singleplayer games. Right now the alpha is singleplayer only. So the min reqs they have right now are going to be different from the min reqs for the beta. Which is usually (But not all the time) higher then the final product min reqs.

In my experience of testing alphas and betas, the reqs are usualy lower for the released game, they start testing it on high end computers, then bring it down so more people can play it. But it being on the Unreal 3 engine I'm expecting any dual core, 2gig of ram, pc should be able to run it fine

Luckily decent hardware is rather cheap these days. I suspect that it's gonna run rather smoothly on a E8500/Q6600, 8800GTS/HD4850 and 2-4 GB of RAM. Top of the line processors are quite cheap, slap on a good mid range GPU, which are also not very costly, and you're set.

Quite an extravagant claim, do you have the figures to back it up? My 512mb 8800GTS runs UT3 on maximum like a dream, I doubt it will have trouble coping with MO on at least medium.

wth guys, this is one way AoC died cause they were stupid and required a high end computer just to run the graphics decently. Should atleast be able to run the game well on a Geforce 7 series

Sorry to say, but the Unreal Engine 3 has been chosen, and it's quite taxing on system resources. Combined with the nature of MMO landscapes (large, sprawling areas) I would imagine the system requirements will be pretty hefty.

I don't know, I've got an average system and it plays UT3 really well. Ok, it's not average but it's not bleeding edge either. Granted the maps in UT3 are small and MO looks to have some huge environments. I suspect my system will be fine:
Intel Q9550, 2X8800GTX SLi and 8GB RAM w/Vista Ultimate 64. |

I doubt it's going to be that high. I agree with Kalafax's first post. It won't take a huge amount to play this game -because- of the Unreal 3 Engine. You guys should really read about the engine before you go off saying it will take huge amounts of resources.

Regardless of what it's system reqs are...they're probly beyond my poor 5 year old system here. So, from now, 'till near this games release I'll be saving for a nice high end rig so I can play this game in its full glory at 80fps in crowded towns!(My own unrealistic dream)

But this is, of course, all speculation. It would be nice if we could find out what specs the machines that recorded the teaser were running.

Just guessing, but if you can play Bioshock well on your computer( which uses the Unreal 3 engine, to great effect ), you should be fine.
