Being able to do everything mounted (so i presume that means fireing arrows/casting magic and other ranged actions from horseback etc) will put mounted combat one step ahead of Darkfalls whom left it out i am only presuming because of balancing issues, so it would be interesting to see how that will be balanced out. I look forward to it.

They said that there going to be taking some ideas from Mount&Blade so download that one and check it out and don't mind the graphics MO is much better.
A brigade is over 3000 soldiers.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/brigade As for the topic of mounted combat, I absolutely love mounted combat in Mount & Blade. Although in the beginning it really tends to make things pretty easy, hehe. Take on 18+ guys on foot and come out barely scratched. But once you get more into the game mounts vs mounts and higher skilled troops can really cause grief for you and your mount. But it's all done very well in my opinion, the mounted melee and ranged is great fun and takes some skill to get accostomed too. |

Squad of 5, Division of 25, Platoon of 125, Brigrade of 625. But due to the size of an MMO, you'd rarely see that many people at once under the same leadership. It's really a subjective number that can be set by the organization depending on their numbers. Yes there is somewhat a standard in today's military, but it's still not an exact number and it varies between countries. Hence the -definition- for brigade having no exact number tied to it. |

it is actually very difficult to shoot an arrow while riding a horse. i hope that your screen is gonna be just as shaky while doing so in MO as it is in RL, unless you have very good archery AND riding skills.

I had a hard time with any ranged combat while on horseback with Mount & Blade, heh. I got a few lucky hits here and there though, did some amazing damage. It's some real skill and patience to accomplish that feat, heh.

Mounted combat in UO was fun, and not to unbalancing either. Plus the ability to kill the enemy and then kill his mount was classic. Is it DFO or MO that stated that mounts can be stolen from you after death? MO wasn't it?
Yes, mounted combat is something that I very much look forward to. No more dismounting to fight and remounting in order to catch back up. |

I thought of something.
I always love chargin into the enemy, using formations and diciplin. ( i'm a roman Well, i'm too lazy to open a thread myself and I guess this place would be fine. The idea is that too keep formations and such you would be able as a groupleader set a formations, which your fellow kinsmen could join and entering a square of momvement where you trapped in between all your friends. You cannot leave this square without leaving the formation, or if your leader dissolve this. the leader would have some req on his skills to be able to form different formations. This would make it easy to form up like a Triangle and chage the enemy line and let your infantry follow your lead while you plunge into the middle of you enemy with your noble steed. This is also one of the things i missed in M&B. you can't really form up your troops, like in the totalwar series.

Fr3ske, you do know that you can put several quotes in one post? Or are you just trying to get up your post numbers?
Anyway, on topic, I'm not really in for the mount fighting idea, but if there are big epic battles with mounts I have nothing against it. I'd just be one of the non-mounted fighters, as I don't think everyone will be mounted. I think there will be many epic battles if the mount combat works out good and doesn't become as bad as in Age of Conan.
