Hello all, I wanted to get in the action as well and came up with a creature I've had in my head for quite some time. I wouldn't call myself an artist, because with a pen and a piece of paper things rarely come out right. However being a web designer I can do some quality digital art. At any rate, I present to you the "Thousand Screams".

Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop CS3

Background:
These creatures lust for the souls of the battlefields, slowly gaining and evolving strength with each new soul collected. Due to it's massive size and the fact that it can hover it is feared. The actual shape of the creature is like a huge ball, each face attached juts out just a tad but the faces go out all the way around the body. The faces act like shields as well as weaponry. Often seen in dark and eerie places such as graveyards and swamps.

The creature's main face is the main brain to the unit, it contains a soul vane which houses and drains the souls. Breaking this vane will unleash the souls and the creature will die when all the souls leave it's body.

One of its common attacks is a soul burn, it uses one of its drained souls as a power to draw out a beam of light through its mouth. This beam will cause a burning sensation on anything that still has its soul attached, if under the beam too long actual damage of the skin tissue will occur.

The Thousands Screams is also armed with a self destruct mechanism, when it feels like it may die it will activate this system. The system basically bumps the souls to a small area causing pressure on the inside of the main head and around the body's pressure points. When this system is active you will see the two circles by the soul vein light up and change colors drastically. The colors it goes through depend on the souls collected. When the critical point is reached the creature explodes sending its many faces and shards of itself into ricochet of massive damage area. Some say the top pieces can fly for a 1/4 mile away.

These unique beings are often a rare breed and it is under rare circumstances that an adventure may find one. They generally keep to themselves but if felt threatened they will attack.

You improperly titled your thread. Just taking the privilege of being the first to let you know.

As for the creature, it is pretty cool. A decent amount of depth to it; it kind of reminds me of an undead-stylized "elemental" of sorts.

I really don't mean to be crude or anything (more trying to be helpful) in saying this, but the artwork kind of looks like a vagina. You may want to revise it, because several other people I showed the picture to immediately thought the same thing. Maybe that just means that my family and a few friends all have dirty minds, but I don't know. Just passing the word.

Hmm I didn't get those reactions from my roommate, gf, or friends but I can see how you are getting that thought. It is a quick digital "sketch" and I'll be shaping it up until I'm satisfied, probably a different approach to it next time around. Thanks for giving me the heads up though.

This is different from what i ve seem. good idea; if you are going to change the main face you should see many types of mask, mayan aztecs, romans etc, the impresion i get, is something like a living item, totem or mask controling the souls. good idea as i said.

It's concept work, I'm sure if we were all awsome concept artists and could match the MO concept work, that we'd all have jobs and putting our work there instead of here.
