Mount & Blade Warband

Just wondering if anyone else in the community plays Mount & Blade Warband? Would be fun to get together with some MO'rs.

For those who haven't played, think of it as M&B/MO mixed with CS.

To get in the beta you need to have purchased the original Mount & Blade.

I love this game, played it for a few weeks so far and I'm liking it.

I have both the muti player beta and single player beta, I don't do multi player much becuse I allwas get killed early and have to just sit there doing noting till next round.

I finally downloaded and installed it, been having fun all day with m&b.

Thundertrod, play on a server that is a deathmatch and you respawn in like 4 seconds.

Warband in its current state is pretty damn awesome. The most fun imo, are when each player on a team gets a group of bots to controll. This leads to massive and fun battles. Beta is progressing along very nicely, and I look forward to each patch.

There's no 1v1 Duel game mode atm, but the community just upholds certain laws and restrictions on dedicated deathmatch servers, so if you just want to train 1v1 you can still do that =P

I'm a fan of the old Jedi knight 2/3 games, and this game reminds me of it in some way. So if you liked the fighting in those games, I'd suggest trying this one out, once it's released. Atleast for me, it eases the pain of not having a Jedi Knight 4 at hand

that combat looks better than anything ive seen in MO so far cus its so fluent and stuff, hopefully its because beta is just horrid

The wonders a simple bump map can do. Yes, I'am in Warband and I'am texturing/modeling for a M&B mod, and at the moment, Warband's multiplayer combat seems more sluggish now. Me and my enemy seem to slide around like we are ice skaters in the current Warband version.

Only got into beta the other day, had M+B for ages but I only decided to apply for beta about a week ago.
At the moment it's very good, I'm still getting used to it though. The only thing which bothers me at the moment is how weird the thrown weapons are working, something just doesn't seem to be doing it's job right.

Played it a while ago. It was fun for a while. It seems certain factions usually win when paired against a certain other faction. Kind of ruins it if you get put to the "wrong" side. M&B itself is awesome with the right mods.

Big Question because i'm undecided on buying this game when it comes out...

1) server capacity. I know it states 32 players max but this is a definetly no for me. Anything 64-128 players?

2) Games without horses? I find horses a bit...overpowered. Too easy.

3) Co-op, more detail? =)

I have definitely seen larger games, I was in one earlier with around 50, I think the max was 64. I can't say the game is suited for it though. maybe if they add castle wars or something.

Most people tend stay on foot as horseman are painfully easy to kill. Horse archers are a pain in the ass without good archers on your team. Horseman's main job is basically to flank enemies, if they attack someone with a 2h weapon head on they are going down.

Basically, it goes through rounds, players are able to create polls in the format of:
"Nords vs Swadians on castle1"

dunno about coop

Game not suited for 64 players or more? The game doesn't look suited for 16 players at all =p Sieging a castle with only 16? incredibly boring compared to sieging it with 128 players.

Been playing since closed beta (.500) under the name of Kevlar (nK_Kevlar to be more precise). Cavalry just got changed with the latest patch making it harder so people who complained might stand a chance now.

Games pretty fun but there isn't all that much of a lasting appeal for most people I would think as there is no leveling or rewards of any kind other then more money. You get money for killing enemy players which can be used for new armor/weapons but even then you can just get killed by some noob archer who spent nothing on his gear and you just spent 3 grand.

They nerfed horses fucking AGAIN? Srsly everytime someone complains they change something, Make a thread about it and QQ a lot and the devs jump to srsly

Cavalry were all ready piss fucking easy to kill before the last couple of patches.

Pike > Cavalry. Bow > Cavarly Sometimes even 2H > Cavalry

Everything either gets nerfed or buffed, i remeber when cav was way too OP and you could couch with your eyes closed, I remeber when Spear and Sheild was OP, I remeber when 2H Was OP and they pretty much still were untill recent patches bringing in melle FF but still theres the dreaded 2H Spam with 2h axes,Glaives andthat big vaegir wep cant remeber its name that destroy sheilds in what 2-3 hits even of the highest quality and is a guaranteed 1 hit kill and they swing faster then nearly every weapon, Game is really annoying sometimes

The power of M&B... especially post Warband release is in it's mod community. Don't toss it in the bin when the devs do something balance related... the modders will make it awesome again.

I like the servers where i can go naked (pants of course) and i put a helmet on, shield and spear and run around as a gladiator.

I usually play battle. ingame name is Legion_kio, unfortunatly, most people call me Legion in the gamee :|

Yea, i was REALLY into WARBAND a few months back. I have picked up other games to play at the mean time but I probably will revisit the the beta before launch.
