Actually you should try audio settings 16bit, 48000 Hz or 24bit 48000 if your soundcard supports 24bit audio. Lower values may cause crashes. Higher also, at least that was on my system. You may want to play around with it.

I have the kernel32.dll error. Tried this. Didn't change anything.

I had also tried re-installing, updating all my drivers, a couple of tweaks to the nowengine.ini file. Nothing has helped. I'm past the point of caring if I play MO, but its become personal. I'll get this damn game to work or die trying.

I'm going to now try deleting nowgame.exe and run the launcher and try to see if the auto-patching others mentioned will work.

its in your soundcard manager, no game menu.

I think it has something to do with the game not liking being tabbed maybe at least in your case? Just wondering if that plays any role in mine as well?

I have a simmilar problem:
everything runs smooth until i 'want' to enter my username.
The cursor blinks at Username and i can switch to password and back to username with mouse or tab. I also can press Shift or Strg in example, but at the very moment i hit an alphanumeric key -abc..xyz123..0- nowgame.exe crashes.
I tried to trick it by entering my username with coppying-strg/c from a list and to enter it by strg/v but as said when hitting an alphanumeric key, which 'v' is -> crash again.

Latest drivers on my system btw.
Using XPprof/SP3
Athlon 64 X2 4800+
3Gigs Ram
Geforce 7800GT (atm)



Edit (solved):

1. i saved all donwloadet updates
2. uninstalled
3. reinstalled, and started updater - launcher didnt connect
4. when it tried to dl Updates i quit and applied the patches manually
4.1. just a note i tried to start the launcher, crashed immediately after hitting play so i
5. installed the newest physX
- works
now i crash when i try to loot

I can not log into game without rebooting computer. When I was crashing a lot I could log right back in without a problem. I just tried logging out and crashed.

S. Thanks to a bug report by Trixxer
in your Mo folder go to:
Updater > mortalonline > UnrealEngine3 > NowGame > Config and open NowEngine.ini
now, first thing you wanna do is backup the file.
now, get in the file and look for maxLODsize=4096 line, you will find many of them, change the number from 4096 to 512. in all of them.
save and start the game.
please report back if it helped you.

i just checked my admin tools and got Kernel32.dll so i have bad drivers im hoping

i tried installing the newest dx10 and it said i already have the most up to date one

when i tried to install physix and the graphics card drivers, it installs, then for a split second it flashes comelpet but then says error at the top screen.. i donno

I was playing the game before, Open beta, and during open beta, but i recently reformated my computer which im not good at doing, so now all these problems occored

my probelm is the nowgame error at slash screen

My game crashes every time I load up with my Headset selected as the default playback device.
I crash after the splash screen.


When the windows configuration is set to 5.1, the game does not crash but I have no sound.

When I set it to 7.1, quadraphonic or Stereo, it crashes.

The game works fine when I run it through my Stereo Receiver speakers, no matter how I have it configured.

I am using an Tritton AX-PC Pro 8 speaker surround sound headset.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Sorry, ignore my redundant thread. This worked. Setting the value down from 24 bit 96000 hz to 24 bit 48000 hz solved the problem.

I changed all 4096 to 512... I changed my audio settings to 16bit48000hz... and still get this damn error please help I wanna play before beta is over I get the damn Kernel32.dll error any help that ends with me playing is very very very appreciated

ps: game closes at splash screen or whatever it is called that pops up after hitting play

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME, i get to the splash screen and then it says "NowGame.exe" has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it says "To see what data this error report contains, click here." and then I that, and the most important thing I find is AppName: nowgame.exe and modname: kernell32.dll
I am running windows xp sp2. I have a nvidia 9800 gt. I have directx 9 i think. Im not that good with computers. PLEASE HELP

I was getting the Nowgame.exe error at the splash screen also. Event log said kernelbase.dll.

What I did, was uninstall completely, download the client again, start the updater.exe until (on 5th try) it updated the launcher.

Then, started the launcher, until it started to download the MOpatch0to05.exe. I cancelled the download, went into the MortalOnline/patches folder and started the torrent (I downloaded using Limewire). Once this had finished, I executed the file, and the patch loaded up.

I then repeated this process for the other 3 patches, MOpatch05to121719b.exe, MOpatch121719bto121820.exe, MOpatch121820to121821.exe - each time installing the patch separately from the launcher.

I then ran the launcher, and haven't had a Nowgame.exe error since.

Not suggesting this is the process that will work for all, but it did for me. Seems to me as if there are problems downloading files using the launcher.

I finally managed to play it (on my AMD Phenom II x4, HD4850, 4Gb DDR3).

I had the nowgame error even after installing: latest directX, latest video drivers, latest .net, latest physics.

I changed the windows sound options to 24bit, 48000 Hz, then reinstalled the game and now it works.

I played for a while and it crashes very often when there are more than five people, but still it looks like it could be a very good game.

ps: just some advice for those who are trying to make it work;

- make backups of the patch installation files you download because
number 1 and 4 out of 4 files disappear for some reason once you install them (unless you want to download 2Gb again just for fun)

- i got some message telling me I couldnt uninstall the game, if you want to reinstall you can do so by redoing the first installation

- when the server is rebooting or has problems the login fails but it may say the pass is wrong or some other wierd stuff... just be patient and try again later

When I click play, I see the splash screen and then the screen goes dark, then lightens a few shades from pitch-black and sits doing nothing. I can't alt-tab and the only thing I can do is start the task manager and kill nowgame.exe to turn it off..... I'm running windows 7 ("seven" for the stupid search box) and for the last 7 hours have been constantly trying every different way known to Bill Gates to install the updates and now that I have them... I will play chess until someone answers with hopefully something that makes sence and helps me. TY! The community rules.

Well thats crap. We need to find out how to use the 64bit system. I bought this computer to play MO and no one told me you can't play it with 64...

I guess were supposed to turn down sound guality... In win 7, right clicking the speaker tab on the bottum right, click playback devices, double click your curent speakers and go to the advanced tab and try turning down the audio bit/hz.

god, before Feb 3rd update I could play almost normally now I crash every 5 minutes after logging in...

I was able to get into the game 1 time for about 10 minutes.
When I tried to relog back into the game I am now crashing at the spinning sword load screen here is the error
