I had the same problem as you. What I did was completely remove the game and put the patches in a diffrent folder. Reinstall the game without running it. Install all patches and then run the updater. If it looks like it is freezing leave it alone. I had to let mine sit for 10 minutes before it started doing stuff again. If you cancel while its doing its thing you will get this error.

Hope this helps.

Default just installed now it keeps freezing.

Ok the games installed fine. Patched up just had a 8.blah meg patch then run MO for first time. Runs well looks great. sorta laggy just trying to kill me a gazelle. Then it turned round and froze on a blurry screen. Task manager says games still running. (aka not @Not Responding@) so i shut down the proccess. Reloaded turned all settings to Low and all effects off (Shouldnt have to on a quad core with 4850 radion) But its a beta so i relaunched. Logged in watched a guy get murdered while looting a gazelle. (Kool!) decided that i should avenge him

chased him down and froze again.

Not sure what to do now. I have read through and was dubious trying the fix's mentioned in this thread as my difficulty is not as described and i figure its probably easier to fix if i dont break it.

PS Gotta say despite all the negative BS i have seen on the reviews MO is looking darn good. Looking forward to an RC,

thanks in advance
Ben

If you still crash after these changes. Then try this, it solved the problem for me on my 3,5 year old comp.

Change the size of MAX virtual memory to 2 or 2,5 times of the size of your RAM.
So if you have 4GB RAM change the MAX SIZE to 8192MB.

Check here how to do it:

I don't think so, I have no compatibility problem whatsoever with any other game. Its just that the code sucks.

P. Runtime Error! This application (NowGame.Exe) has request the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I got this after patching up today (2/20/10). Running Win 7, and have both the launcher and NowGame.exe set to run as admin.

They should fix it after the 22st contect patch. Its all we can hope for at the moment. I have vista and I get the same shit. alot of people who have 7 and vista are getting only a few who have vista/7 are not having any problem.

Just want to say that this:

Quote:
If you still crash and you using Win7 or Vista go to control panel > administrative tools > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Applications. and paste the error you get.

Error type from Event Viewer, you will see it as the faulting module:

Kernel32.dll or Kernelbase.dll: General windows error, this error means you have a problem in your system, it could be either bad drivers, bad hardware, hardware collision, lack of compatibility etc.
Is not true. Kernel32.dll functions are the basic building blocks of just about everything. Basic things like "CopyMemory", closehandle/openhandle, globallock/globalunlock all are here. If a poorly initialized CopyMemory is called and the exception not handled anywhere in the chain, Kernel32.dll will be the 'faulting module', when in fact, it is the application who is at fault.

Here's what I tried to fix the crash, and what eventually worked:

1. Tried to lower LOD settings. (Failed to fix crash )
2. Disabled PhysX on GPU ( NVIDIA control panel -- Failed to fix crash )
3. Lowered Screen resolutions and set all video settings to MIN ( Fixed crash, game IMO looks better, lol ).

Ok, i found a solution. Far fewer crashs now. I installed a older nvidiadriver and it works just fine... Well, accept for the massive desync, but thats another problem!

Try this:
http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/3...rror-tips.html
It seems that the client you DL directly from Mortal Online is corrupted, follow the steps in the thread I linked.

About the runtime error

I had been playing for about a total of 5 hours overall and then randomly got the runtime error. Now every time i try to log into that character every time I get in game it errors.

However I created a second character which I can play freely so I'm guessing it's something in the environment my character was in that causes it to crash.

Any suggestions about it would be helpful, I hope this provides some insight.

I am having trouble with a Windows XP laptop when I enter the splash screen. I need some help with the fixes this page offers. How do you change the "hz" and the "bits" for my sound? I've been browsing through my sound options forever and can't find any way to change those 2 options, or find any hint of them.

In addition, I'd like to know how to screenshot my screen in order to show this page the error I'm having, could anyone help me with that?

Lastly, in the launcher, there is a pink box surrounding the outside of it, is there any reason for this? Any known fixes? Thanks in advance guys!

Default In-game crash fixed!

p. I Crash In Game non stop, it was fine before
S. Thanks to a bug report by Trixxer
in your Mo folder go to:
Updater > mortalonline > UnrealEngine3 > NowGame > Config and open NowEngine.ini
now, first thing you wanna do is backup the file.
now, get in the file and look for maxLODsize=4096 line, you will find many of them, change the number from 4096 to 512. in all of them.
save and start the game.
please report back if it helped you.

This set worked for me, mostly......
that worked for the 30sec play then crash problem, but now it crashes every time i go in or out of a town.
btw it helped me when searching the .ini text to use the "find text"(ctrl-f), option. it made sure i didn't mis any entries. I also had to go into the file options and give myself "Write" properties before i could save the changes in Win7.
