I am a bit late into this debacle. I notice the OP has been edited. Did that remove the links to the italian mirror and the dll mentioned in subsequent posts? The only mirrors I can seem to access now are in Texas!

when i click play and appear ( Unreal technology) i have this error:
RunTime error!
Program:.../mortalonline/UnrealEngine3/Binaries/Win32/NowGame.exe
This applicaton has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I removed the link as the launcher has been updated a couple times since the Italian fansite posted the zip file.

This is usually a Windows/software security problem. Make sure you don't have any security software or restricted windows user settings that might block the launcher from doing internet activity.

I DL'd the installer. It downloaded all the updates after updating it's self several times.

I'm on Version 0.12.19.22 - Beta (2010-02-16)

The installer just states "Installing patch... Please wait. This may take several minutes."

It loads up Core 1 of my CPU to 82% -97% and bounces there. It's been doing this for about a hour now... I'm going to kill it and tell it to try again.

I have a Rampage 2 Extreme MoBo, I-7 920 CPU (clocked.. 4.2ghz) 12 gig tri-sli Corsair, BFG295GTX in SLI, Windows 7. I don't think the hard drive or any thing else should pose any issues. Most installs, even very large games, go extremely fast.

Lol... So I restarted it and it zipped right up, poped a box for me to approve, and now it's installing for real lol. Sense it did hang the first time though, there are the system stats and the issue that had occurred.
Also it now states version 0.13.20.24 (2010-02-24)

for some reason i think the launcher freezing at 99% for a whole lot of people is not because of an 'overloaded server'.

I have opened and closed my launcher about 20 times now and it still is stuck at 99% with 1 or 0 conenctions. Anyone have any suggestions or should I just keep trying? Is there a patch or soemthing else I can dl manually to aleviate this problem?

I downloaded the Client and patches from another source, but it was still the old client. Though needless to say I decided to run Updater.exe in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP SP2 rather then running Mortal Online Launcher.exe.

So far my Launcher has been updating at almost at 2000kb right now in size (I know its bigger)

EDIT:

Download stays at 1,493 kb and then the operation times out after ~15 minutes.

After now 4 Days of Trying to download the new launcher I have finally got it. Devs...find a new way to do this cause the current way is horrible and is turn off dozens of players.

Try the launcher again? uTorrent does not get access to the main seed servers, only the launcher does, so if no other players are seeding the parts of the file you need, uTorrent won't do it.

Getting a patching problem.

At about 90% done i get "performing rollback", after which the launcher tells me "Patching error, use aborted patching". I didnt touch a thing. Im running win7 x64 atm, and i am running the launcher as administrator.

Which patch are you running when the rollback occurs?

Without more information, I'm assuming there's a file it's trying to patch which you have corrupt. If this is the case it won't be able to update it and it'll rollback the patch. You might be looking at a reinstall.

same prob, it's trying to update to 142230.before it reaches the end it starts a rollback and tells me i aborted the patch (which i surely did not)

Also got this problem, some help on how to fix it would be nice! I have tried to reinstall the launcher like 2-3 times and running as an administrator all the time.

Main recommendation I can make there is to make sure there is no security software blocking patching (some anti virus programs can see patches as false positives as they're modifying existing file data), and also make sure you have ample free disk space.

Some people have reported problems with Kaparski (sp? anti-virus app).

It won't even initiate the download. All the patcher says is "Downloading 0to05...".

I just downloaded the game and installed it but when i try to run the Launcher I get an application error. Saying that the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). How do I fix this?

This usually means you need to install the .Net framework. Download/install version 3.5 from Microsoft.

ok well now that I have it loaded when I try to actually run the game windows sends me any error message saying that "NowGame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Any ideas?

There are solutions for this posted all over this forum. I think some are even stickied right below this here thread. Make sure your DirectX is updated (do the web update from Microsoft), install the physx drivers from nVidia.com, even if you don't have an nVidia card.

Thanks SV for continuing with a very shotty patcher. I've been downloading the game for over 2 days now and this shit is just ridiculous. You guys have known about the patcher issue for a VERY LONG time and have not fixed it. I feel like my money is being continually wasted and going gold with these issues not resolved is simply unacceptable. My "free" month is ticking away while your patcher fails.

I shouldn't have to pay for your failures, please add time to my account.

Sorry, but you really don't know what you're talking about. Every major bug, and even most minor ones, are resolved. The launcher works exactly as it's supposed to.

Downloads are slow due to server issues, and these issues are solely due to insane traffic since launch.. traffic that was a fraction as high during beta.

New servers incoming, I think..

So I dont know if "The launcher works as it should" - is not really correct, or is it?

I am installing (downloading) the game since 2 days... so my "free gaming time" is also ticking away.... and I am not amused.

... and to be true I fear the moment I try to run the game... because 89% of the beta I had countless errors and reinstalls and other things... I dont want to be a IT guy to play a game.. I want to install - create account and play...

So I wait and see what happens once the game is downloaded... (if it will be anytime this week)

Any considerable issue with the launcher at this time is related to the server (if you're talking slow speeds) or user/system error. The launcher itself is pretty good as far as bugs go, but there are issues with security software, Windows proxy settings, etc which some people need help with.

i don't think you understand the problem. The client for download and that is in the DVD case that was shipped out for the game has the old beta launcher.

i personally just decided to reinstall the game from the dvd and i am having the same problems.

We need that italian site launcher and utorrent patcher in order to get to the point where we can use the client to patch. Cause right now we are dead in the water.

either that or star vault needs to put up a updated client. but really who wants to download 4gigs on top of the patches.. a separate new launcher for old client versions is needed.
