Archery levels

I was wondering what level i should be for me to be able to use a long bow or a self decurve short bow made with horn?

You put the question in a worng way

level of archery affects only the damage you inflict , not the type of bow you are using. Strong bows require strenght and if you put very strong materials in a bow is a great probability you could never used those bows efficiently. so my advice is maximise your strenght , then try use the bow you want to use it , if you can`t use it well and you are not happy ... throw it . Yes you heard me . throw it and build another one with lighter materials.

Archery imho is full of failure right now.
Kiting impossible
Huge stamina drain
Takes forever on foot to shoot a single arrow
Aiming is not really aiming.
I´ve heard though mounting archery is where it´s at.
Well fuck mounts i want to be able to pewpew on foot too !
Slightly dissapointed in what i´ve been able to test thus far and the crafting system is not hardcore.
No descriptions at all about materials is not hardcore.
It´s just retarded and yall know it.
I guess if people knew what material and which system the bow has what kind of damage output + speed it may develop after time it would be carebear and i should go back to WoW ?
Also str being a must as an archer is kind of silly if you ask me.
I reckon dexterity and constitution is where it should be at as a ranged class ...
Just my two cents.
ps: OP you just have to shoot over 9000 times at mobs or players in order to get better results with your archery.
Different game , same grind.

-Staminadrain is just huge if you use an Longbow or haven't enought str.
-doesn't takes forever oin foot. depends on what str you have/bow you use...
Aiming isnt like in Counterstrike thats right noob.
