How will they be done? are they just gonna be repeatable and universal? or once someone does it will it be closed.
what i want to see done is player created quests. ie a guild needs an errand done or some crafts man needs a couple of teeth then they should make a "quest" for it. the way i would do it is the way you got side missions/contracts in Witcher. there would be a public post or billboard that "employers" would post jobs on. or the post could also be private like in front of their store. it would let crafters stay and craft and allow there to be an endless amount of quests. |

In an interview, Henrik Nystrom has this to say about quests:

That sounds to me, like quests were a really rare thing. Maybe you complete only 2 or 3 quests a week that also last much longer. Is that what they mean?

nope dont belive in homework
anyway i noticed something in the MMOSite interview, and that is that they are planning to realese with one server in europe! any way back on topic, i still think a public "quest bill board" would help in, not only meeting new players, but in keeping quests organized and stuff. and thanks for the links egg they cleared up alot. |

i think they'll be like in old UO - for example, at some point on certain servers orcs invaded the town of cove. You could go there and fight them back (killing a certain number/pushing them back, until the next more powerful wave came, then doing it again) or go around looting bodies, or killing other players there, or not going there at all. The players decisions dictated the outcome, but at no point did you go somewhere and accept a quest, you had no journal message telling you "You must kill 9 more orcs," the only experience you got was for killing orcs/players, and the items you got from the bodies - and maybe a reward at the end to a handful of key players. Afterwards, the orcs were pushed out of cove and guards once again took control over the town.

Interresting character this ''egg'' guy.
Back on topic; I believe the OP idea is good. Im always for stuff that help organise and promote order. I believe a guild, group of people or simply a crafter in need of ressource could place quest on the billboard and depending on preset parameter give the amount of XP relative to the task. But since its not lvl based I doubt what I said was revelent. Maybe cash instead of XP?

right so there will be private and specialized boards where only a few(ie guilds, shop owners) can post jobs on them and there will be public board where anyone can put a job on there. this could also be intergrated into a journal system to keep track of the tasks you have to do.
