Hrm but I don't like DotA as well and I'm european... seems like your logic isn't working. :P Quote:
Though I don't think any of them has a key already and they still have to win. :P

looks like the devs stomped the community team... although who would have known one of their devs (jesse) would be an internationally ranked DotA player? no wonder the devs didn't seem too concerned..

What's his nickname in the international scene?
There wasn't much time to prepare for this..the Devs had their team going long before we even knew about the contest not to mention slackers such as myself only found out about this contest now.. (re-match and I'll try to force Ks.Int to join the forums)

heh so the devs had an ace in the hole... serves us right for thinking we common folk could take on our dev masters... and that explains the lack of new content realesed this month...
by the way, is there a movie of this on youtube or somthing? i would like to see this

Yep, we got our asses handed to us. I'm sorry for letting you down community. But the match was rigged from the get go.
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=UpmcHx...eature=related It reminds me of this episode of the Simpsons.

Captain's mode is pure tactic and experience counts when picking heroes. Who knows how the community team picked their heroes.
This was rigged I tell you..rigged!!!

I think we should get at least an image or something..come on Devs, we're here for MO, show us something, anything lol. Is it that hard to give us 1 lousy image?
(how about some bribe? I still have some cookies here next to my monitor, I'll share them with you guys if you cough up 1 image showing anything interesting in MO like a mount or something. I'm not kidding and it's a good deal..don't pass it up)

![]() First game end screen, four from the dev team ended up dropping due to faulty network hardware, they had two lanes down so it was basically their win (even though by tournament rules we would have won due to the classic, either load save, play on or forfeit!). http://www.dota-allstars.com/replay/89409/index.html is the replay uploaded and parsed - MO DEV TEAM WIN ![]() Second game endscreen, this game ended up being more onesided than the first - tinker chose to play a aggressive build which basically nullifies the farm of the entire team except him. This works out quite well if you manage to maintain the initial advantage sorted. http://www.dota-allstars.com/replay/89413/index.html <-- link to the second replay For the people wondering about the picks they weren't generally bad or anything, the problem with playing -cm in 6.58b is that there's no ultimate lineup to rule them all. With the bans you have to attempt to minimize the amount of "gg"-heroes that you'll leave to your enemy but there's no such thing as complete cover against this. Without bragging or anything I was the "best" player we had to offer in terms of individual skill and the only guy with some actual clanwar experience so either it was this or allowing some of the other teammates with close to no experience with competetive dota to pick. When JesseQ joined then I realized that it would be a proper game instead of the stomp people have anticipated and thus I prepared myself for a couple of hard games In terms of execution the devs actually did alot better than expected regarding initiating, maintaining map control and most importantly they had good economy . We being the community team were a bit unfocused from time to time and ended up either hesitating or being too rushed in order to achieve anything properly and some of our itemchoices were absolutely horrendous without going into details (bonus points if you realize what I'm talking about). I'll look into frapsing some key parts of each game if I manage to do it properly so the people who dont have a WC3 client can watch and attempt to understand the esoteric madness which is DOTA |

Frankly, I'm not surprise about this outcome. And still the game is a perfect stranger to me.
Anyway, good work everyone for the nice try, we won't hate you till the eternity ends, community team =) Is that not a soothing thought? Oh, and Congratulations to devs for the much expected victory AoChiv next! =P

ty for replays. One down, one to go.
Impressions of first game: CM was def pro, excellent use of ult and wonderful choice in itemry. Other big standout was no anti-invis of any kind. Ended up in rapage with whole team invis. Map control trophy def goes to Dev's. I think the main issue for the community was ur int's never got off the ground. No early game advantage at all there. On to the second! |

I gotta say for the community.
I disagree with your use of items on a few of your characters. But I'm sure you did your best. I'm hoping that we can get another dota game in. But overall: You played against a good team of devs and lost......but it happens. I'll have to watch the replays soon. |

Second Game Impressions:
Gotta say, i've been converted on the whole bracer build on int hero. But def not a believer in double vangaurd. Rather go one Vangaurd or one vangaurd + one stout shield. Dev's controlled map again hardcore. Specially with Tinker. Best. Hero. Ever. Meh, thats about it. GG's...sorta |

I just watched the replay at x2 and x4 so I might have missed a few things. Here's what I think:
-bad pick Invoker, you guys could have picked void or even spectre to go with omni; -way to defensive/ scared; you hugged towers for dear life when the enemy was waaaay over in front -> lost creeps/ money -> got outfarmed pretty fast. -individual skill (sorry to say) but was close to 0; Lich didn't harass early on when lich is imba, bad early item build for dk/ levi and invoker, wasted skill points in spells not needed at those levels; -poor map awareness especially omni (left tide to die while he was happy killing some creeps 3 feet away) and tide (played too defensively and was almost never where he should have been); -you DIDN'T play -cm but -ap (tinker, cm, omni and anub should've been banned - in theory anyway); There may be more that I left out but in the end it doesn't matter anymore. Too bad we couldn't prepare for this better, have at least a week and make a selection of community players..oh well. If you guys have Garena accounts, gimme a pm and we'll play a few matches there )Devs included) p.s. - Dev team had 2 big advantages: 1) they hosted the game so legal map hack (if they used it that's all I'm saying; they may be innocent) and 2) they had vent or they all played from work and therefore talked to eachother. :P

First game was hosted by the comunity team, second one I think was hosted by the devs. Also the community had a spectator that could have been feeding the team info both games, quite sure that didn't happen though
But the dev team did play from the office yes. |
