Me and I'm sure several other ppl around here play dota every day and I bet if we could've organized a better community team and not rush it things would be different (I saw mistakes in the dev team as well, they weren't godlike but there was simply no opposition). Having said that I would like to thank the community team for trying their best and fighting for us. I may have been a little harsh when expressing my oppinions but that's just me - I don't like to lie or beat around the bush. GG everyone and I hope dota events will become more frecquent because it's a great game, a fun game that you pk/ pvp guys should definetly try. ^^ |

But anyway - invoker is probably the most underrated hero ever in dota so I guess I can forgive your ignorance in this case (This is slightly related to that there aren't really many... competent invoker players out there, I know that myself, Ks^Puppey, ImbaQ and LightofHeaven play invoker - I might have missed someone but anyway) Secondly the part about people being defensive - well, I specifically requested practice the day before so I would be able to gauge the players prior to the game - I'll reiterate that the only reference I had on the developers was a quick public with two of them in enemy team and hearsay from Souljah. I wont delve deep into details regarding individual skill because I consider it fairly redundant - (enough was stated about this on the vent This is not to say that our team was bad or anything, I just think that people would have done good with a couple hundred pickup games in order to get some experience/confidence (B.net/GGC public -> pickup -> generic inhouse leagues was always the logical progression according to me and I think that most people should consider dotapickup if they want to move "beyond" their public stage) Regarding cm picks I would gladly pick against you if you seriously believe that those heroes are the primary threat in 6.58b (You would allow Kunkka, dirge, kotl, riki into that game - hf winning) ^^ As a simple summary: I would probably have forced a cherrypick of one of the people I generally play dota with as a replacement for one of the two people who wasn't active during the day before matchday because I consider this at least a large part of the problem that we faced during the actual games. This assuming that I knew that they were stacking with JesseQ making the game interesting instead of the stomp people had anticipated. People had close to none clanwar experience and thus wasn't familiar with the entirely different prioritizing that exists in a clanwar or even something higher-skilled than generic public. Oh and btw - feel free to pm me on IRC if you want to play serious dota some day ^^

I was referring to the heroes that got picked in the replay I saw but weren't banned. The mode was -ap and not -cm in that replay so I'm guessing you guys talked about the picks before hand and if you did I had no way of knowing.
Invoker is a good pick if the person playing him is proficient enough and skilled enough (I suck with invoker, unless the opposing team is filled with noobs :P).. Those were my opinions based of what I saw in the replay (which I watched at 2x and 4x for the most part); that doesn't make me right or wrong because those were my personal opinions. The void/ spectre suggestion was made based on what I saw int he top lane, both of which would have worked well with omni.. I'm not pro and couldn't compete with gamers from Ks.Int, Rush3d, SK, MyM, etc but I'm sure I could hold my own. You mentioned some good players there but your name doesn't ring a bell m8.. |

you don't have to be a pro to be amazing at dota. I would place the people who play the game every day against a clan team any day. People often underrate pubs.
Although to be honest it is usually with good reason. Most of those people are noobs who leave every time they die. I play with a small group of people on a consistant basis. Some of them suck but there are 3 of us who are really good at the game and when we play, we win. Conveniently the Shdw_22 that's in this forum is one of them. Feel free to send me a pm if you guys want to play sometime. i'm all for challenging the Dev's to a rematch. I've never gone in the IRC though. But if we're going to play we're going to have to wait until at least February 1st. I've got some stuff that needs finished before i can play again. On invoker, personally I love the hero. I have't played him in some time so I'm pretty rusty with him at this point, but he's a solid hero with someone who knows how to play him. |

Haha. I am just learning of this battle. That's great! Devs rock, haha.
I wish I were good at Dota.. The game is too much of a grind for me. If they ever want to challenge us in Tower Wars or Sheep Tag though You guys make me aware of it! You'll be glad you did Gosu and I are the lead Sheep Tag map makers on WC3 (we sort of competed with eachother). Or at least I used to be. I haven't played Wc3 in a while. But being one who had helped to build that game, you could imagine how much of a benefit that it may be to have me on your side Hell, I'll play on the devs team if the community doesn't want me. Just make me a Moderator, haha

I really like the idea for this community event. Too bad I missed out in January. There seems to be a posative reaction from most of the community members on this event. Maybe do this event again sometime? I play dota competivly and for fun. If there are any descent players on US EAST. Hit me up, we are always looking for more people for in-houses. Don't worry not everyone I play with is experienced. B.net name is Jake_the-snake. I play most US nights.
