Sharantil: Bring the Player not the Zerg Stream: Youtube Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvhMp_IBbIc Download: Megaupload Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=416KDQ88 FileFront Link: http://www.filefront.com/16856885/Br...-the-Zerg.mp4/ Content: Mostly outnumbered fights against equally geared enemies with first hybrid PvP footage. Music: World Of Mittelalter Musik - La Rotta Waylander - Born to Fight Skiltron - Skiltron Van Helsing OST - Reunited Note: Fights in darker environment might work out better in the downloaded version and shouldn't be as dark as they are in the stream. -Shara Last edited by Shara : 25th June 2010 at 01:03. |

Downloading now, will comment/rate after I watch it.
Edit: The download works, but the video crashes my video player every time I try and play it. Edit2: Interesting video, I watched it through the stream. Was pretty decent, I guess. The shitty quality did not help at all. Overall, I'd give this video a 5/10. Not due to the player, but more-or-less the game. Currently there isn't enough shit in game to really make it interesting and worth-while. Where do you live? Last edited by Amarll : 25th June 2010 at 00:53. Reason: clarity and review |

Germany, the shitty quality is because the processing of youtube isn't done yet, so it only displayed the low-quality. In about 30-40 min there will be a HQ version on youtube. EDIT: Filefront link coming up in about 20 minutes as well. Last edited by Shara : 25th June 2010 at 00:55. |

Watched it properly now, looks ok, but I still think thrusting blades are too easy to use... absolutely no aim involved. You can literally spin in circles while attacking and will still hit. I suppose that counts for all weapons atm though. Make it aim-based again imo.

I live in Texas so the game is currently fucking me up the ass PvP wise. I'm assuming my ping is well over 300 when I play the game. People warp all over my screen, and horses that are literally 10-20 yards away hit me. So PvP is basically unbearable atm. You have a lot smoother performance than I do(latency wise atleast, I get around 40-60FPS average). On the other hand, congratulations with vid2, I think this gives a fair representation about how PvP is really like in MO, and also offers the US players something to look forward too(smooth performance). Keep up the good work, and lets hope that SV adds in more content to actually allow you to make an exciting PvP video that doesn't just show you doing 1-2 things over and over and over again. Nice vid, good job on the hybrid
Another toothpick player tho P.S. How do you always keep TAB and ALT pressed? G15? Neat trick, game should have a toggle to always keep the croshair on, it even looks better with it.

heh yea, you can, and luckily, with a swinging weapon it's automatic because it does all the swinging for you.
So, like I said, nomatter how easy it is to use a thrusting weapon, a swinging weapon is still easier to land a hit with. All you do is get someone on your screen, and within range, and you WILL hit. You can't say the same for thrusting weapons, if they are on the corner of your screen, and you attack without skilled aiming, you will miss.... So swinging=hit anything on the screen within range, and thrusting=only hit things infront of your weapon |

I think the reason people say thrusting weapons are easier to use, is because (I'm guessing from my experience) there seems to be less delay from attack to land, swinging weapons have a little delay from when you let go of the attack (if your holding to aim, or if you just click) and landing. Also the wind up for attacks aswell seems shorter. But that just seems like it to me, I could be wrong.
And thrusters do seem quite a bit easier to use then non. Again, opinion. |

Ahh, that battle where you guys too 0 damage from steel blades?
The cross fire in the pic shows the normal output with us in the same armor as them: DMG count Mind you, full stats.

Maybe he is skilled but also a coward. Attacking naked guy skilling up creature control, oh, that must take some courage to kill him - me. Gratz for this! :-)
I have nothing personal against you but some kind of dignity from you would be nice... |

Good job Henrik! your combat testing team of noobs during the last phase of the beta sure balanced weapons alright! not like the pokers are still the best thing to use!

I wouldnt go as far as to say you can hit anything on your screen with a 2 hander, like tyrant has said. Bit exaggerated. The weapons since release are all having some weakness, getting more balanced. Axe is good damage, but alot of handle hits. 2hand sword less dmg, less handle hits, good swing arc. Pokers, decent dmg, fast, hardly any handle hits, but no swing arc. I think theres actually room for personal preference now?! Holy shit, lol. So while I think you guys have valid arguments, you can perform well with a few weapons now. And im sure theres more, that we havent tested yet. Tempted to try alot of things now. Poleaxes, hammers etc. Stuff we never would use before. Do I think any of them are over powered? Not really. |

Thrusting blades are basically a manually arcing weapon (possibly easier than an arc that you don't control) there are barely any handle hits, they are fast, good damage, lots of weak spots. Still overpowered? Yes. At least they require 200 skill points though. One handed pokers with a shield though: If you want to save skillpoints, these are still the weapon of choice imo. Less range, and less time to manually arc. Less damage too. But the shield often mitigates attacks to 0 damage - that and the huge number of weakspots and speed make it outdo a 2 handed weapon such as greatblade and axe.

i do it with my lousy keyboard which look pretty much like this. so there is no need for illegal 3rd party or strange stuff. also it doesn't give you any real advantage more than any normal crosshair (which pretty everyone who goes for pvp is using) |
