This classic got me through some hard times.
If you haven't heard of it or played it, find it, it's a game where you build a dungeon and fight off the heroes using your minions. I think it's from '98 or '99 but still it's a great game. Bullfrog Studios, PM, yeah, back in the day when hopes and dreams were traded like currency, now they're worth as much the dollar. (The wind just took two of my yard lights out, they are on an electrical wire, but the gust was strong enough to knock one over and then suck another one with it)

imo DK1 is a lot better than sequel.
Currently a chineese dev studio licensed DK from bullfrog (or whoever had the rights to it) and are in development of mmo game based on DK Although the idea of mmo based in DK is awesome, I doubt chineesians will make something better, than another themepark game with EQ mechanics, and asian style gfx.

Dungeon Keeper was one of the hardest games i've ever played. Taking into a account i completed Another World on the Atari ST when i was 4. I just couldn't get my head around it. Did take up a bit of my time though.
Aww i remember when i got Theme Hospital too! Came home from school and my Dad had just came home from being off shore and he asked me to bring any glasses i had in my room for washing and Theme Hospital in it's big cardboard box was on my bed. I was so well behaved for at least 2 weeks.

Holy shit, I completely forgot about that game until you said something, yes I really enjoyed both 1 and 2. Ah back when games were actually good. Been about 10 years since something worthy of a challenge has come around.

It still exists, in fact, it's been overhauled and recoded, with the old graphics. http://www.openttd.org/en/ Runs on XP no problem.

Well, I don't know if there will ever be a DK3 (or DK online). But it's one of my alltime favourite games. It doesn't matter which part. Well, the first is the better one, yeah. But DK2 was great as well. Never ever played such a funny strategy game. I just hope that the DK franchise won't be dead forever. Woul be a real shame.
And yeah, blame EA for destroying Origin, Westwood and Bullfrog!

I never played Dungeon Keeper unfortunately and the abandonware version doesn't work
But I did play ThemeHospital. That game was awesome. I'll never forget the big head disease and the 'cure' for it. Or the Elvis impersonators (or an emergency where 20 of them are swarming your hospital). And the hairy people that had to get electrocuted Anyhow, if you want a game that's kind of like Dungeon Keeper, check out Evil Genius. It's a fun game and done in the same vein as DK.

Dungeon keeper 1 was just a brilliant game. It was one of the three pc games of the 90's that I played constantly.
Baldur's gate and fallout were the other two. =] Funny story, a few years back when I was at college. It was the first week of school and I was on my dorm floor. And from way down the hall I hear something familar... the distinct clicking of gold seams! I ran down the hall and found another gamer enthusiast playing dungeon keeper and intermediately made a friend that I kept for all four years of college. |

I played dungeon keeper alot when I was a kid in swedish.
Great times I had. If you want a game that is quite familiar to dungeon keeper I can recommend Evil Genius. Quite fun as well. |

"A dark angel has become angry because he is in the company of creatures he hates."
These words will haunt me forever with images of phantom skeleton armies and cyclones ripping apart my fresh stock of skeletons and vampires. |
