Does your main character share your forum name?

Mine does.

Think it adds accountability. If someone takes offense to something I post here, they know who I am in game if they want to hunt me down and "talk" to me about it.

Who else is brave enough to let their actions in game reflect on the personna here in the forums, and vice versa?

For me it's impossible to tell which the main character is, but yes one of them has this name.

Yet, RP wise it might make sense to hide their character names. And of course for those who professionally infiltrate guilds.

Right that, the poll is pretty narrow minded with those few options. I am missing one for RP reasons too, and maybe one for other reasons that need explaination.

Also, in the end the poll is useless since one has 3 characters on an account and only one forum name...

But hey, the poll doesn't matter much to me really, it's fun enough to read what people think about this topic.

I don't have other characters than my main. Having multiple characters is for me a sign of weakness and is like using cheats to make the game easier.

I like making up characters. I like roleplaying different characters. What is 'weak' about that? It's just another way of playing the game.

I did for a short while... but then i deleted the character, i get bored easily and like to make wonderous and elaborate names up, to suit the character that i am creating.

Although i've used Khayman to represent myself through this online persona for many years, i just dont use it as often as i use to in games anymore, it isnt because am afraid people will link my wrong doings in-game and attack me on the forum and vice-versa, its just purely to allow me to fiddle around with odd and quriky ingame personalities.

You know, you don't have to be limited by the name when you choose it. I named myself Zealot because that is what people would see me as and identify me by. Zealot is not my name in game, it is my nickname. It is what people who don't know me well will call me while my friends will use my character's real name.

but what really happened with me was I rolled a Mage first back when they were really gimped. Rage deleted him and the name bug was still going on where your character name dosn't go back into the name-pool after you delete them.

although i'm kicking myself for deleting him because I had max creature control from tameing animals across the continent when i was lost in the wild for like 4 days RL....

So i guess for the purposes of the poll, yes, i represent myself and dont hide. Except my crafter. I hide his name.

The thing is Benevolence doesnt fit as a name in mortal. it was to be my mage. turned out to be benevolent.

the other thing is i started my melee toon first, and decided to get a mage later, so my melee became my main until i am ready to switch (which should be soon[tm]).

It's not a question of bravery. My forum account represents ME as a real person. My character is my character. Know my character name and address me by it in real life, I'll ignore you.

For example, my character hates red murderers. In real life, I welcome them as a fun aspect of the game. Me 'acting' hostile on the forums towards them doesn't make me accountable or even accessible.

Therefore, I keep my personas in-game and just be myself on the forums or anywhere else outside the game.
